Hi, my friend Amber considers Mr. King her favorite author and has read lots of books written by Mr. King. Her favorite book is The Shining. She just recently put me on to it two days ago and I'm halfway through it the first time around. I haven't picked up a book since 10th grade and I have just been so intrigued. Anyhow, we plan to attend the meeting on September 24, 2016. I see based off a high volume of people that it would be impossible to arrange a meet and greet. In a serious manner, in what way are we able to seriously discuss a proposed meet and greet or possibly a telephone call with Mr. King. I assume this is not an everyday thing and it would be costly. Could someone please contact me back regarding this possibility? Again, this is a serious proposition. Thank you so very much! -Chris Wilson

I’m sorry to have to tell you that it is Stephen’s policy not to meet with fans. Particularly during the summer, he has quite a number of requests to do so and just cannot accommodate every request because of his own work schedule and family time. He has, therefore, decided that the only way to be impartial is to not meet with anyone. He regrets that this has become necessary and hopes that you can understand his reasons for doing so.

That is understood, another question. What could I possibly do to get her copy of The Shining signed by him? Is there a procedure for this? Even if something needed to be taken care of over the winter months, that would not be an issue for us to accommodate. I sincerely thank you for your previous very prompt reply!!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news once again, but he stopped signing books other than at official book signings quite a few years ago. We don't have any book signings scheduled for him at this time where it would be possible to bring an older book for signature.

If you would be willing to give her one that wouldn't be personalized, there are legitimate book sellers who carry signed Stephen King books. One that we can recommend is David Williamson at Betts Books.
