I have read the 2003 revised edition and took notice that 19 first appears on page 49 in Walter O Dims letter to Allie of Tull, and that
Jake chambers was killed by being ran over by a blue Cadillac,
described on page 112.
What I would like to know is if these attributes of the number 19
and jakes death
were in the original story or if they were integrated into the story in 2003 or any time after June 19 1999.

The appearance of 19
was added to the book when King revised it while he was working on the final three volumes in the series. Because the number is so specific to events in King's life that didn't happen until the late 90s, there's no way it could have been in the original.

As for Jake's death at the hands of a Cadillac, that was in the original. Later, King decided that the car was driven by Enrico Balazar.

Thanks all for the replies and welcomes
Another question for those who have access to the first edition "Gun Slinger"
When Roland is speaking with Walter at the end of the book (first edition)
does Walter tell Roland “death, but not for you”

l.a.link ...in answer to your question
does Walter tell Roland "death, but not for you".
The answer is yes, I have the first UK edition paperback published by Sphere and when Walter is telling Roland's future using Tarot cards I quote...

He tittered and turned the fifth card.
A grinning reaper clutched a scythe with bony fingers. "Death," the man in black said simply. "Yet not for you."

Welcome to the board!
