On page 592 in the Signet paperback, Stu says about Nick "...when I think he might have had his hands right on that shoebox..." How did they know the bomb was in a shoebox?

George Bush and Dick Cheney, they were in on it, told 'em about it later at the ranch in Texas, slapping knees, chugging Pabst Blue Ribbons. I guess at one time Pabst allowed some of their hops to get into their beer...people'd be drinking a cold one, swallow something with texture to it, cough it out...sales plummeted. Always wondered what happened to Pabst...all the cans you'd see lying by the side of the road...the brown bottles, returnables for us way back when, bring them into Pasco's Big Boy Market...10-cents as I recall. This, 2-cents...chug-a-lug!

A while since I read but think once they'd established that their common dream was real (&productive/positive) they trusted their instincts and nagging doubts more. Think they felt common foreboding feeling during meeting but don't have a copy of the book to check.
