After I posted this, I had this horrifying thought that I may be confessing to some depraved act I'd never heard of. ;-D So I looked this up in the urban dictionary and it's there but it's not too bad. I was only making a utensil joke. ;-D

I actually laughed out loud! This is the sort of thing I would do, then hope no one else thought of it either, and wonder if that was why people kept looking at me funny. "Oh crap, it's that spork this isn't it? Should I say something, or would that just make it weirder?"

Off to the UD....

Yes, I agree, sporking is nothing to be ashamed of.

I did note that one contributor was completely bent out of shape that the word "spork" was even invented, since apparently there was already a term for them, runcible spoons. Was anyone aware of this?

I was not, but it hearkens back to my favorite verse of a childhood poem:

"Dear Pig, are you willing
To sell for one shilling
Your ring?" Said the Piggy, "I will."
So they took it away
And were married next day
By the Turkey who lives on the hill.
They dined on mince
And slices of quince,
Which they ate with a runcible spoon;

And hand in hand
On the edge of the sand,
They danced by the light of the moon,
The moon,
The moon,
They danced by the light of the moon.
