My husband and I watched a couple of the Smithsonian Channel specials over the Labor Day weekend; they were pretty good. The one called Building Star Trek was pretty cool.

Been a fan since it came on the air. Have a welcome letter from the original ST fan club in my collection. Have had the great good fortune to meet several cast members from all ST shows, including Nimoy and Shatner. LL and P!

I dig the Trek. I'm not crazy about it, like my sister Shelley. But I can grok. Earliest memories be me and the fam, sitting around at supper time to see what kinda mess Kirk and his crew were in that evening. Then, a few years later, we'd get these weird satillite feeds of Trek episodes over the old school 'moving satillite' we had back in the eighties. Remember those? Galaxy Five, channel Eight...engage! No commercials, no promos, just the test screen, then Star Trek, episode (whatever), Who Mourns For Apollo? Or They Stole Spock's Brain, or whatever.

Loved the movies when I was little. I remember us all tearing up in the theatre when Spock died in II. You have always been...my friend...sniff...

I dig the new movies, too. They brought back the mini skirts! Logical, indeed.

The entertainment tonight showed the "babes" of star trek. They were a fun bunch and aging well.

Oh cool, I didn't realize that! I missed last weeks' show (Svengoolie). What was it, CYB?

It was another one of those Inner Sanctum movies with Lon Chaney, Jr; Frozen Ghost. If you've seen one of them, you've seen them all. At least that's how I feel.

Really looking forward to this Saturday though!

She was also Mrs. Rutherford (Lumpy's mom) on Leave It to Beaver!

It has been fifty years since Star Trek made its Sy-FY debut in history. It is amazing that it still holds up today, fifty years later.

50 years and two days if you lived in Canada at the time. Star Trek premiered here on Sept 6, 1966.

BTW, just watched the For The Love of Spock movie - backers had a sneek peek - done by Adam Nimoy. Very well done.

I've been a huge Star Trek fan my whole life. To celebrate the anniversary I'm breaking out my season one blu ray set of Trek and watching the first episode at 8:30pm tonight, the hour that the first episode was aired in 1966. Yeah, I'm a nerd.
