I can't remember where, but I remember reading that you said that you have read over 17000 items. Is that only books? Or does that include comics, mags, short stories, etc. I also remember reading somewhere that you said you're not a particularly fast reader. A while back I sat down and calculated-conservatively- that that was two books a week, maybe more. Also, all the books you buy, do you get rid of them, or do you store them away.

Ms. Mod may be able to help you out with this one once she is back from vacation.

I can't verify if it was that many items but I know he keeps track of the titles/authors of books he's read and usually a note about what he thought of it but I don't know how long he's been doing that as I haven't seen all of the journals with those entries. The Kings have extensive libraries in their homes but even so, I can't imagine they keep every single book and know for a fact that they do pass along books to friends/family.

Just thinking of that many books makes me happy :) Two books a week can be done pretty easily (not War and Peace length, maybe) if you're not flat out with kids/demanding job. Even then, travel time is great reading time, or waiting in offices, or while nursing (I built up my hand muscles holding the last Harry Potter book when LilMan was a wee nursing nipper--lol), or eating, or doing dishes (not recommended for library books ;D), or...

Reading is my favorite thing ever.

It one of the least expensive as well. Instead of watching all those cooking programs, or glorified Karaoke shows, grab a book.
