Stephen R King

So I downloaded "infested" by Stephen R King to my kindle. I admit I was not really paying attention when I bought it, and I quickly realized this was a faux Stephen King, but I figured what the hell; I'm at the beach, I'll give it a read.

Well, I'm here to tell you that OMG it was AWFUL. The short stories were either inane beyond belief (spoiler: a talking spider) or contained deeply disturbing gratuitous violence.

Oh, and the grammatical errors were a nice touch.

I'm pretty sure this faux King thing has been discussed here before, but I had to share.

I see there is also a 'Stephen B King' out there.

Imma be more careful in the future.....

We had an ongoing problem with Amazon about the other Stephen King as it was very confusing. They finally had him add a middle initial and must have done the same for this other one. At least in the past, Amazon was refunding the cost for anyone who mistakenly bought the books by the other authors but may no longer be doing that. Worst that can happen is they say no.

We had an ongoing problem with Amazon about the other Stephen King as it was very confusing. They finally had him add a middle initial and must have done the same for this other one. At least in the past, Amazon was refunding the cost for anyone who mistakenly bought the books by the other authors but may no longer be doing that. Worst that can happen is they say no.

Well, it was pretty inexpensive and I should have been more careful with my purchase, so overall it's no big deal. Basically I was relieved to discover that this poorly written piece of crap was NOT the work of THE Stephen King.

Anyone remember "Spending the Stephen King Money"? I can't find the original blog that Emily Schultz posted. It was so funny.

— The Stephen King Money is gone and I am $9.97 over...

For anyone not familiar, she wrote a book called Joyland. Eight years later, King published a (originally print only) book called Joyland. People were downloading hers, thinking it was his. She was completely innocent in the entire matter, and people were able to get their money back. But she did manage to get about $3000. And a very supportive tweet from King.

And, if I recall correctly, reviews on Amazon from people who thought it was King's book ranged from being very insulting to raving it was King's best book ever.

Is this a new guy? I rember the other guy, and people whould go to to his unofficial Facebook group and complain, or they whould wonder why our kings writting was garbage. Glad we worked together to get amazon to not link them together. Amazon is also selling a book written by Paul Bernardio who is a creepy killer dude

Honestly don't know if it's the same one or another who tried to capitalize on the Stephen King part of the name.

Amazon does continue to link the two authors together. I ordered "Gwendy's" via my kindle and "infested" popped up as "other books by Stephen R King". The "R" should have tipped me off, but again, I was getting ready to leave for the beach and downloading reading for the trip. Careless on my part. But, my point is that Amazon still links the various Stephen (insert middle initial here) Kings with the one and only. Not sure about the Amazon website, but Amazon kindle continues to lump all the King men together : )

A King by any other name is NOT Stephen King. The person, whoever he or she is, is getting dozens of reviews. If these are paying customers, that person posting the books is making a killing.
