I have found that carrying my Stephen King reading material with me always starts a conversation. If I want to read undisturbed, I sit out in the breezeway at therapy, otherwise, the waiting room, more times than not, turns into a discussion group on the latest King folks have read or plan to read.

Today, the grandmother next to me noted my well worn copy of Salems Lot and off we went. She got a one hundred dollar gift card for Barnes and Noble and SK will be happy to learn that she added half a dozen titles to her Nook. Lol.

As we tortured ourselves at the direction of the Sadists called therapist, (Steve knows), we talked about recently read, and on the list to re-read. The torture was a bit less painful and time passed a tad quicker.

She asked who else I read and wrote down the names, I promised to read dark tower. This was not an isolated or unpleasant happening. I doubt I am the only one who has noted it.

The never ending world of SK. May all your therapy sessions be less painless, and complete recovery be just around the corner. Please do read the Dark Tower books. You will find it to be a life changing journey. Wishing you a Happy New Year of good health.

I think I have acquired most, if not all of the series over the years, just never settled in and gotten started as that bent of the genre is notbmy fave. I will however organize my DT books and fill in the missing volumes... then settle in for the journey.

After all, I have been...
A Gunslinger.
Bwah hah hah.

As Spidey says, take the Journey.

You will know what a Gunslinger is when you read. Just wait for the second book. And you meet the Tet. Or the third or fourth. Tet.

Welcome to the boards. Sorry I have not been able to be on to welcome you earlier.

Sorry, time was up to edit. Thank you for your service. I did not mean to disrespect what you have done for our Country. Whole different kind of Gunslinger in the series.

No offense taken. When I left the Corps, I taught firearms to LE, shot competition to insure my skills werebat their peak, and worked patrol operations. The gunslinger comment was a joke, but in reality, what I did... lol.

Sorry, were at...

The keyboard on the tablet...
The lower lines of letters are really close to the space bar... sigh, if I dont check carefully before I post, instead of a space between words, I find there is an "n" or a "b" because I tried to type too fast.

BOM,am I to understand, that you have yet to read the first line of the Dark Tower? It is to me,the absolute best first line in American fiction ever written..and if you take the walk with Roland, all the way through, you will be amazed..and,I hope, you really enjoy the ride and what it means..

I will soon start my journey, just need to finish my reread of the 'Lot. I finish what I start... I will certainly share the journey with my new friends (dare I say, family?) here as I wander through. I'll strap on leather and iron and walk beside the gunslinger.
I'll hope to meet my good friend Jack somewhere along the way. After his journey was completed in our world, I remember he had work to do in another... yes?

Even though you have not taken the journey yet you're part of this Ka Tet (one made of many).
We are family. You will see that meaning more and more as time passes. Being an elder here,I
I can assure you this family is strong and caring in good and tuff times.

And that first sentence of the Dark Tower will remain with you for a lifetime. You are amongst the lucky who have all the books available. Many of us read as published. Tests in patience. Well worth the longest waits.
