My favorite European car chase from "Ronin".

One of my favorites. I recall when the movie was released some of my fellow soldiers found the movie to be boring. I tried explaining to them that John Frankenheimer had intentionally made an "old-school" action movie, but it went by them.

To Live and Die in L.A. anyone? Not only did William Petersen do most, if not all, of the driving, John Pankow's freak-out was genuine!

So "Bullitt" is easily one of McQueen's most well known movies. I own it and I've watched it many times. The plot could have been a bit tighter and there is a lot of wasted time, but somehow this movie has become the epitome of late 1960's West Coast Cool. Even in 2016.

S.F.P.D. Lieutenant Frank Bullitt at the end ,having gotten his man, but he takes no pleasure in it. He's a professional but cool. Dig those elbow patches.

It's a great car. Here in my town there is a pharmacist who has a 1968 Ford Mustang fastback. He's gone to a lot of effort and spent no small amount of money to get that car to look like the one from the movie.
