In Canada, I think, it was called Ten Little Indians. Never heard the Brit version. Could they use the N word even? Wow, Christie died in 1976, I think.
The N word was used casually in sitcoms as late as the 80s, airing on BBC 1 and 2. I was shocked when I started watching The Young Ones - I didn't really watch them properly until the late 90s/early 00s. I'm not sure about book titles but I guess in the less p.c days even a book with that title wouldn't have raised too many eyebrows.
