OK here is just one of those fun topic. if you were stuck on a deserted island and had to pick 3 of kings books to be there with you which ones would they be and why?

Then

you got to pick 3 characters from kings books to be there with you who would they be and why. I will post mine later today. still debating between 2 of them for the last spot.

Of the sK I've read I'd pick...

Skeleton Crew, because I'd rather have many stories in one book, and it contains some of my favorites.
Nightmares & Dreamscapes, because I'd rather have many stories in one book, and it contains some of my favorites.
Desperation, because it's my personal favorite sK novel, and I think I could reread it without getting awfully tired of it.

The people...

Jessie Burlingame
, because she's highly intelligent, resourceful, and could tell some really scary stories around the campfire.
Lisey Landon, because she's wise and mature, and somebody to provide added emotional stability because she's learned how not to panic.
Alan Pangborn, because I'd need a male companion for balance, and because he's a trustworthy man.

The Darkside of the Moon (England really)
I'd go with my favourite 3, IT, 11/22/63 and The Stand. They're all big books and I can't see myself tiring of them, plus I'm quite a slow reader so I wouldn't be reading them 1 a week or anything. Even with the abundance of time I think I would probably imagine myself in a stuation like the stand and create my own never ending story in my head.

As for the chacters, that's a tough one.

1, Roland. He has a wealth of interesting stories to keep you sane. I'd love to walk and talk for a day with Roland.
2, Stu Redman. He seems very grounded, easy to call a mate. The kind of guy I'd like to share a beer with on a summers evening. (If I drank beer that is)
3, Beverley Marsh (adult). Come on I'm a red blooded male, I'm going to want some female company. Bev is beautiful, and strong yet vulnerable.

IT (the best book)
Everythings eventual (you got to have one collection among the books)
The Stand Uncut (gotta be a biggie if there only three books)

Beverly March adult version (OK, i'm male and she is beautiful but she is also a really nice and caring companion that would be a good company)
Dale Barbara (it might be handy to have someone like him around that can do a little of each)
Roland (for all the stories he could tell and to defend us from whatever may occur)

East Ridge, Tn.
Skeleton Crew, Everything's Eventual, The Bazaar of Bad Dreams. All because i'd have more stories then if I chose stand alone novels.
Bean Mears, Michael Noonan, Stephen King. All for the stories they could tell.
(SK might be a cheat but he was a character in the Dark Tower.)

sorry it took me so long. been crazy busy. now granted I read my first king book around 2 years ago and I now have around 16 under my belt so my choices are more limited.

3 books. seems to be a favorite is 11/22/63. reason is it was my first read king. and oh yea, its awesome. the only reason I havnt re read it yet is bc just so much of the author books out there to get into. cant wait to re read and catch all the little things I missed.

Doctor sleep. this will probally seem strange to most of you but I read this before I read the shining. now that I read the shining, the dr. not only doesn't flop on a sequel but holds it own on its own merit. definetly has its own flavor. loved it

the stand- well just because. I mean no explanation necessary.

3 characters would be-- eddie from the dark tower. I can relate. plus bring some humor to the situation. he would say something like " great, im stuck on a desert island, I can finally work on my tan.
bill hodges from mr. Mercedes. have to have someone in charge
Julia from under the dome. just love confident woman.

List is subject to change as more books under the belt.

I thought Blunt said "Lindsey Lohan" for a minute there.

Between Roland and Dolores, we would survive because they could make anyplace a home. Wolf to protect me and watch over me and care about me.

The Stand (Uncut) and IT are my two favourite books (period) and they're long, so, I'm all set.

As for the third, probably Cell, because it might lessen my concern about being separated from society.

Hmmm...that's a tough one ( as all top lists are ). Anyway...here goes...
The Talisman - One of the first books I've enjoyed by Stephen King and one I have never gone back to re-read.
Insomnia - I loved Al Pacino in that one! (Just kidding - to meet the fates again (Clothos, Atropos, and Lachesis?)).
The Stand - Uncut...good versus evil at the end of days...what's not to like?

Sorry but dark series doesn't count as one book. Have to choose one. I haven't read black house and talisman but I notice there always together so yeah they can be one
