May all be well or on the mend.

(I hate to use the word *stupid* but...if it walks like a duck...)

I never cease to be amazed at some people behavior. :icon_eek:

Police: Driver makes fake 9-1-1 call to get out of ticket | abc13.com

:facepalm_smiley:

See, I just would never have imagined to think of such a thing. If I were to sit down for a few hours and try to figure out how to get out of getting a speeding ticket I would NEVER had thought about doing that. And I'm pretty imaginative.

If you have any examples of this kind of behavior please share.

Thank you!

Peace.

If I got caught speeding I'd go with the old "My wife is in the hospital having are baby, I can't miss this" routine...........Nah, actually I'd probably just pay the ticket, getting caught in a lie like that ain't worth it.

Well, one time I did get out of a ticket because my wife was having a baby. Well, in labor, anyway, in the front seat. Not only did I not get a ticket, but I got a lights-and-siren escort to the hospital.

Yeah I've heard that from other folks as well, that's why I know it works. I can't imagine the consequences if you got caught using that as a lie though.

I read on another web site years ago -- a guy was seeking advice on how to get out of a ticket.

He was radared. The person who responded seemed pretty knowledgeable about it and said two things I thought were good, but pretty risky. I would not use either one of these unless the cop was a total ass to me and was FOR SURE giving me a ticket. And even then, I would never do it. But it makes sense.

If you are caught on radar -- handheld? are they all handheld? you can ask the officer how much training he has had using a handheld radar device. What is his experience with it? How many hours has he logged using this device. They know.

Second, you can ask when is the last time the radar gun was calibrated? Things malfunction. These things are checked for accuracy. When was it last checked?

Of course, if you do either of these, you have just become an obnoxious threat. lol. Proceed with care.

If you make the cop jump through all those hoops to justify his ability to do his job it's a 100% guarantee that he is going to show up to court on every occasion and constantly remind them that you were a pain in the ass. Whatever the maximum penalty is for your discretion, you can be sure you'll get it. Better to just face the music and leave it alone then patronize the cop and make it worse.

Oh, I agree. I would not want police on my ass from now until the end of time for being obnoxious.
