Why does taking your shoes off in someone else's house sound so intimate to me? Once I take my shoes off, I'm ready for jammies. But helping yourself to food and drink just seems kind of natural. We must be total heathens down here.

I dunno. I always figured it helps keeps the floor more clean.
Perhaps you do because it's more comfortable and you don't want to be comfortable when you're socializing? Perhaps it's taking off a piece of apparel, and that's just not natural? If so, leave your jacket and gloves on too.
Yeah, I think that's the main reason for taking of your shoes. And it's more comfortable when watching a movie and putting your feet on the couch.

I was a liberal in my younger days. Responsibilities of a family, future and world events moved me to conservatism.

About 10. Three dress, two pair of sneakers, two outdoor pair of boots, dock shoes, one pair of snow boots and flip flops.

It's what I went to school for, and I'm pretty good at it.
