1 Is there ever a plausible excuse to wear mink or do you find the idea repellent? I don't have any fur items and I don't see myself buying any.

2 What would you consider to be the ultimate pizza topping? (Skies the limit; caviar, guava, kalamata olives... go bonkers!) Mushrooms and extra cheese. Pretty wild.

3 Jury duty or the dentist? I'd take a cleaning over jury duty but not a dental procedure.

4 Name, if you can, a word you have consistently misspelled or mispronounced since childhood. Misspell "definitely".

5 What is your fave C&W song? Amarillo by Morning-George Strait (many other picks from Strait as well)

6 What, in your opinion, is a Kardashian? (Up until quite recently I thought they were vile, genocidal people on Star Trek) People that seem to be popular just for existing?

7 Cuddly creatures. Which do you prefer? Cats, dogs or inanimate stuffed toys? Dogs

8 Everybody has a favourite film from childhood. Mine is the Railway Children. What is yours? Cinderella

9 We live in a fast paced world with ever decreasing choices due to time management rather than thoughtfulness. What is your go to snack? (Not fast food, you have to make it yourself) Nutella on toast

10 Finally, I remember the Love Is... cartoons from years ago. Define the word love simply in one or three words. Complicated; wonderful; life-sustaining

A big breakfast, and sometimes a nap later in the afternoon

4 What did you want to be when you were very small?
Teacher or librarian

5 Festival season is fast approaching! Do you own an RV and wear a large hat formerly occupied by a rabbit?
Darn it! I left those in my other pants

Not too long ago

Im thrilled to be here and wish to know more about you...

Thrilled to have you here, and I hope your curiosity isn't misplaced.

1 Being Sunday what will you or have you had for breakfast?

Often, an egg dish (scrambler or omelet) with vegetables and cheese. Today, though, granola with blueberries and ground flaxseed. No, it's not sad. I actually like it.

2 Looking back over the last twenty four hours is it ever a safe assumption to believe the night before won't come back to mortify you?

Yes. I haven't been mortified by a night for a few years now. But I'm old.

3 What is your Sunday treat? (A pitcher of Bloody Marys, artery clogging fried food and an anxiety attack or perhaps a health shake followed by a trip to the gym and a sensible lunch?)

Oh, sometimes a hamburger on the grill.

4 What did you want to be when you were very small?

Paleontologist. That goes back as far as I remember.

5 Festival season is fast approaching! Do you own an RV and wear a large hat formerly occupied by a rabbit?

Used to want to have an RV, but not anymore. Hats don't look good on me, regardless of their prior owner(s).

6 Who is your definitive SKeeter protagonist and villain and why? (They needn't be from the same book.)

Protagonist, John Smith. Ordinary man with extraordinary circumstances trying to do the right thing. Villain, Rainbird, I think. Blow up a plane? Want to see someone as they die? Ugh, just ugh.

7 If you could have any preternatural talent or gift what would it be?

Omnipotence. If not, omniscience. If that wasn't available, immortality would be neat. If that's asking too much, instant healing.

8 Have you recently had a deeply spiritual (not necessarily religious) experience?

I keep my sex life out of public forums.

9 As a child did you master the yo yo? What was your favourite trick?

Sending it to the bottom of the string, letting it spin there for a bit, and then flicking it back up.

10 Now we are at the end of the survey please tell me how you feel in one word or less.

Well.

As always my warmest regards to you all,

Back to you, sir.

That was yesterday's breakfast, substituting strawberries and adding a few raw cashews. One bowl, shared with my sweetie. Life is pretty good, right?

I'm thrilled to be here and wish to know more about you...

1 Being Sunday what will you or have you had for breakfast?

I made waffles in my Cuisinart waffle maker using an old recipe from my favourite cookbook. You beat the egg whites separately and fold them in, to make them fluffy yet crisp. (The impetus behind this was the fact that the milk I bought five days ago was starting to smell slightly 'off').

2 Looking back over the last twenty four hours is it ever a safe assumption to believe the night before won't come back to mortify you?

Wow - I am too old for stuff like this - I got all my partying out of my system many years ago!

3 What is your Sunday treat? (A pitcher of Bloody Marys, artery clogging fried food and an anxiety attack or perhaps a health shake followed by a trip to the gym and a sensible lunch?)
Carry on reading Revival and have a nice soak in the deep tub with some of those Himalayan bath salts (not necessarily at the same time, as I don't want to wreck my hardcover book).

4 What did you want to be when you were very small?
I think like a lot of little girls in the early 60s I figured I would get married and have babies! :snicker:

5 Festival season is fast approaching! Do you own an RV and wear a large hat formerly occupied by a rabbit?
Rabbit? I thought that said "Rabbi" at first! (honestly). Yes, we have a large Viking tent trailer. We will open it up and see how it's doing, then hook it up and go camping somewhere. I was thinking maybe Riding Mountain National Park. p.s. I only WISH I looked good in a magician's hat (like a certain evil Rose) - wouldn't wanna be her, though!

6 Who is your definitive SKeeter protagonist and villain and why? (They needn't be from the same book.)
I liked both Jake from 11/22/63 and also the guy (author) from Bag of Bones (I did not picture him as Pierce Brosnan). Villain? - it's a toss up between Annie Wilkes and Norman from Rose Madder - he made me shudder as there really are sickos like that who enjoy inflicting pain on others.

7 If you could have any preternatural talent or gift what would it be?
To be like the people in The Chrysalids who could communicate with their minds, but not be intrusive. If you have ever read the book you would know what I mean (John Wydham is the author).

8 Have you recently had a deeply spiritual (not necessarily religious) experience?
Yes - it has been going on now since June 2013, and looking back maybe started around 2007 after my husband got cancer. I won't go into detail but it's good to know we can still change/gain a better understanding of ourselves and others, even after getting sort of "stuck in a rut".

9 As a child did you master the yo yo? What was your favourite trick?
Yo yo? Nah - I was a real whiz at the hula hoop - skinny little creature with lots of energy back then - I could go on and on it seemed. (I liked to drive my brother's metal car up and down the driveway, too!)

10 Now we are at the end of the survey please tell me how you feel in one word or less.

Happy :okay:
As always my warmest regards to you all,

Philip

:m_applause: Nice to have you here Phil! (Can we call you Phil? Do you prefer Philip?)

I would be honoured to nominate someone, if it's okay? I would like to nominate Kingaholic if she's willing and doesn't think it too presumptuous. And thank you Flake and Nadine ☝
I noticed your spelling of 'honoured' - you spell like I do! (British dictionary, rather than American).

I'm thrilled to be here and wish to know more about you...Pleased to meet you Phillip - I don't think we've met before.

1 Being Sunday what will you or have you had for breakfast? I lucked into a bit of leftover grilled rib eye steak - I was too lazy to make eggs to go with it, but it was still pretty good.

2 Looking back over the last twenty four hours is it ever a safe assumption to believe the night before won't come back to mortify you? Pretty safe to say, those days seem to be long gone.

3 What is your Sunday treat? (A pitcher of Bloody Marys, artery clogging fried food and an anxiety attack or perhaps a health shake followed by a trip to the gym and a sensible lunch?) Our oldest comes over with her laundry and I cook a big brunch - bacon, eggs, grits, gravy, hash browns, pancakes - I love having all of us at home for just a bit. I miss my kids being little. Sunday mornings are special.

4 What did you want to be when you were very small? When I was very small, I really really wanted to be a check out girl at K-Mart (the grown up word would be cashier, but I was a little kid.) It looked like it would be so much fun punching in all those keys and seeing what everyone was buying.

5 Festival season is fast approaching! Do you own an RV and wear a large hat formerly occupied by a rabbit? I wish!

6 Who is your definitive SKeeter protagonist and villain and why? (They needn't be from the same book.)
Roland Deschain - I'm hopelessly devoted to him; though I do have a bit of a crush on Jake from 11/22/63. Villain: Norman from Rose Madder - horrid person.

7 If you could have any preternatural talent or gift what would it be? Time travel or teleportation.

8 Have you recently had a deeply spiritual (not necessarily religious) experience? Yes

9 As a child did you master the yo yo? What was your favourite trick? I was terrible with the yo-yo, but I could really rock a set of kerbangers.

1 Is there ever a plausible excuse to wear mink or do you find the idea repellent?
I don't like the idea...although, when I was in fifth grade, we all wanted rabbit coats...

2 What would you consider to be the ultimate pizza topping? (Skies the limit; caviar, guava, kalamata olives... go bonkers!)
Pizza Inn thin crust pepperoni...I don't like too much on my pizza.

3 Jury duty or the dentist?
Jury duty for sure. I've never been asked, but I think I would enjoy it. The dentist, on the other hand, is torture to me.

4 Name, if you can, a word you have consistently misspelled or mispronounced since childhood.
Assuage. I always want to say "uh-sage." In third grade, I remember having trouble with "determine." I would often think "De'-ter-MINE."

5 What is your fave C&W song?
Dolly Parton's I Will Always Love You.

6 What, in your opinion, is a Kardashian? (Up until quite recently I thought they were vile, genocidal people on Star Trek)
Attractive people cashing in on attractiveness.

7 Cuddly creatures. Which do you prefer? Cats, dogs or inanimate stuffed toys?
Cats.

8 Everybody has a favourite film from childhood. Mine is the Railway Children. What is yours?
The Wizard of Oz.

9 We live in a fast paced world with ever decreasing choices due to time management rather than thoughtfulness. What is your go to snack? (Not fast food, you have to make it yourself)
Banana with peanut butter

10 Finally, I remember the Love Is... cartoons from years ago. Define the word love simply in one or three words.
Love is...tolerance.

1 Being Sunday what will you or have you had for breakfast?

Weet-bix, classic Aussie breakfast. :D

2 Looking back over the last twenty four hours is it ever a safe assumption to believe the night before won't come back to mortify you?

Yep.

3 What is your Sunday treat? (A pitcher of Bloody Marys, artery clogging fried food and an anxiety attack or perhaps a health shake followed by a trip to the gym and a sensible lunch?)

My sunday treat is homework ! ;;D

4 What did you want to be when you were very small?

I'm still small, so I'll say director/writer filmmaker auteur extraordinaire. :biggrin2:

5 Festival season is fast approaching! Do you own an RV and wear a large hat formerly occupied by a rabbit?

Huh ?

6 Who is your definitive SKeeter protagonist and villain and why? (They needn't be from the same book.)
Protagonist - Andy Dufresne
Antangonist - IT (specifically Pennywise)

7 If you could have any preternatural talent or gift what would it be? Immortality (unless I wanted to die). Then I'd get a big sword, and run about the place quoting Highlander.

8 Have you recently had a deeply spiritual (not necessarily religious) experience?

I woke up facing the wrong way. :O

9 As a child did you master the yo yo? What was your favourite trick?

Nup, I'm sh*t at yo-yos. Bloody thing never works properly when I hold it.

10 Now we are at the end of the survey please tell me how you feel in one word or less.

Contended.

As always my warmest regards to you all,

Philip

Thank you, I need warmth, it's bloody cold down here. :)
