Yeah, yeah, I know. It's kinda fluffy, but it's fun, and we're enjoying it. The actress actually pretty well fills it as I've visualized the character. The Calista Flockhart character is annoying to some, but she's the right balance of annoyance and entertainment for us.

And J'onn J'onzz just showed up!! He was my favorite character from the DC comics of my youth - well, him and Flash, but that's another show - and the introduction was brief but fulfilling. I was pumping my fist and saying, "Yeah! J'onn J'onzz**! Finally!" And Grandma is going, "Whaaattttt...?????"

I was on the fence but entertained enough to keep going. Now I've got to see how they develop this.

**Pronounced "John Jones." Yeah, yeah, I know.

I really wanted to like this, even though I know it's really not designed for me.

But the early segment about whether or not it was "acceptable" to call a girl a girl told me all I needed to know about this one . . . and me.

:hammer:

I like it. A good blend of action and drama with the right amount of humor mixed in. Loved Supergirl's punching bag a few episodes ago. I've always liked Chyler Leigh and was pleased to see her get a more prominent role in recent episodes. I'm not that well versed in all the comic book tie-ins, but I guess that Martian showing up at the end of last night's episode was huge. I'll keep watching, one episode left before a break.

It's getting better as it goes on. The Calista Flockhart character has been easier for me to tolerate as we've been exposed to why she is who she is and that there's another side to the tough exterior. I don't remember much of the comics so the characters are all new again.

We're liking how it's developing. There are eyerollers here and there, of course - the producers of the DC comic shows that we've seen (Supergirl, Arrow, Flash) - don't really believe in the meaning of "secret identity." But we're following along, and they sure do seem to pack in plenty of story into the 60 minutes.

I'm going to try to catch the ep with The Flash (in a couple of weeks, I think). I'll have to go to my mom's to watch it, but I can't miss a Flash story :). Hoping they get Tom Welling to do a brief Superman shot by the end of the season--that would go so well, since Dean Cain 'Superman' and Helen Slater 'Supergirl' are her parents.
