Oh thanks guys, I didn't tell that to fish for compliments. I was just telling a story.

I'll tell a better story.

I was a cheerleader. I was the worst cheerleader my school ever had because I really didn't give a rat's behind about team spirit and all that crap. I just wanted to wear the cute outfits.

I was the cheerleader who voted no on fund raising.
I was the cheerleader who hid in the bathroom so I wouldn't have to do a starting line up for state basketball tourneys (we were short 2 girls and didn't practice anything. No way I was winging something.)
I was the cheerleader who told the head cheerleader I couldn't go to camp because my grandma was dying. Like, 3 separate camp dates. (I ended up going and we won the spirit trophy over 300 other girls!) Grandma didn't die for like another 8 years.
I was the cheerleader every morning out of the cafeteria at camp, I stopped and pulled all the cigarette knobs on the cigarette machine in hopes a pack would fall.
My team of 5 girls made friends with a Canadian team at camp, they were the Aardvarks. No sh*t. They would yell across the quad, "wait up you _______ "insert bird name of your choice. And we all turned and waved, turned back around and I sighed and said, "F*cking Aardvarks." I was tired. (Any of you Canadians know a high school with the Aardvarks as a mascot? Yeah. It was them.)

So, there ya go. I was a hoot to party with though.

Teenage minds are so immature. Never, DanaJean, never see yourself as ugly. You have a beauty that stands out on this MB and in the world. Feel and know that you are loved.
Yes. yes they are. But it hurt.

These same guys were asking me out a few years later when I grew long legs and big boobs. Teenage boys don't see the face when boobs are in the way.

I grew up in a town that ended the the word 'Stone'
All of our sport shirts proclaimed the word ' STONERS'

Cheerleader, Softball, Bowling, Basketball - I had the shirt that proclaimed 'STONER' in every sport I did.

We sang the song. 'we are stoners, couldn't be prouder, if you don't hear us, we shout a little louder'

Wasn't till about Junior high or so did the irony get to us.

Wish I still had those stoner trophies engraved, and the shirts.

My first school dance.

I was the "dare" dance. I was the ugly mutt that everyone dared a guy to dance with. He asked me, I said yes. Didn't know I was a joke at the time. Until the end of the dance when all the guys were laughing.

And unfortunately, no matter how many times someone says otherwise, I still see myself as this ugly, little girl.

Well you're not. You're the cat's pajamas ma'am and don't forget it.

Sorry Mr. Cranky, we don't allow fiction writing posted directly to the site.

When Siggy asked for a story, we have to keep it within the rules of the board.

Opps! Dana Jean . I just posted to another member about posting fiction.

I would, however, like to read Mr. Cranky story about the nurse and his backyard encounter again. (Pssst. It was Mr.Cranky who told us that story, wasn't it? ) (Beg pardon Mr. Cranky if i mis-remembered you.)

Tery- with tears in my eyes-- the biggest hug possible is sent your way. I will treasure this story. Life's path/ well met.

Thank you, Dear One

my story is not as touching as Terys..... It might very well have been my first attempt of approaching a girl. It was a school dance, the summer was over and the autumn term had just started. I liked a girl named Michaela, she had beautiful long blonde hair and i was a very shy boy without experience. I was sitting on a chair or leaning against a wall thinking about something clever to say so i at least could have a dance. Somehow i worked up enough courage to ask her and to my surprise she accepted. Then they started playing Beatles ballad Michelle and i got, i thought then at least, a bright idea. Since it was a slow song we danced close and I song-whispered parts of the lyric to her: 'Michelle, ma belle, these are words that go together well, ma Michelle'. Well, it wasn't a disaster, she was a kind girl, but it wasn't a success either. It was a nice dance but we never got to the kissing stage but i went home glad anyway.

Now, that's sweet! :)

I'm very sorry about your mother ma'am.

Thank you. But please don't call me ma'am. It makes me feel like I'm 100! ;)

Eff them. You are gorgeous! If you only knew how ugly I felt walking next to you in Atalanta. You are stunning.

One time on the way to an important job interview - it started snowing bad.

Windows got fogged up and I cranked it down a bit. Got hit slam blam right in the face with dirty ice and snow from a passing plow.

Did not get the job, probably because I was still cussin and picking frozen blobs out of my hair when I got there.
