I looked and did not find a thread about it...

Second terror attack in Volgograd, Russia, leaves at least 14 dead | Mail Online

It's just horrible. People are scared to go to public places again... We had this wave of terror attacks a few years ago, but then it calmed down. And now again...

I think it would be right to send some positive vibes to those who suffered during the attack, to all the people whose relatives or friends suffered. And may the victims rest in peace!

Yeah, people think that it was some kind of "preparation" for the Olympics, something awful can happen there as well... Well, I think they will take all the necessary means to keep the place safe, let's hope our law enforcement will be able to keep it safe.
It is certainaly a questionable decision to award Russia the Olympics and the 2018 FIFA World Cup, I hope I don't offend you Lina, but Russia does not seem a very politically safe place.

You do not offend me in any way, Russia has an awful political regime, that's not right for such a huge country with such a rich history. World Cup will take place in my city, by the way... Should I already be scared??

The problem is that they have the 2 biggest sports events in the world, where millions will have their attention turned to Russia, and the more extreme the suppressive regime, the more extreme "Protesters" will be. In a country like Russia where they have the whole Pussyriot thing going on, the new ban on "pro gay propaganda" etc, massive events become a massive stage for people who want to make a statement in the wrong mannor.

You're right... That's sad. On on hand, I am glad that Russia and especially my city get more attention of other countries, but, on the other hand, it all leads to such horrific events... Something is definitely wrong here.
