It's interesting that the writers named the boarding school Thayer Academy. I went to West Point, which is, of course, a boarding school (college though), and also a military academy. The Father of West point (the man who made it work at the beginning) was Sylvanus Thayer. Though, in my opinion, MacArthur's reforms of the twenties when he was the Superintendent, made him the father of the West Point I knew and experienced.
