....probably the scariest damn scenes ever put to paper.

I remember feeling so disappointed when I first learned that Stanley Kubrick was substituting the topiary for a hedge maze in his film adaption. :a17:
...it certainly raised MY hackles....

Re: the topiary in the book (spoiler if you have not read this yet):

I was just reading this yesterday and it is quite scary. The part where Jack has finished trimming the rabbit and then it looks like the animals are blocking the path to get out!

We are supposed to go there to the Stanley next year for the King Kon, so I guess we only get to see the Maze they have set up.

One more spoiler:

There is a part where he describes a guy who went crazy and it says "he beat up his wife after the Red Sox lost" (or words to that effect)
- that was quite good - it made me laugh out loud!

Neesy what is this event?! I need a website! Or other info!
It is the King Kon - last year it was in Mansfield Ohio and next year it will be in Colorado - I think hipmamajen and Debbie913 are helping out with the whole thing, as is GNTLGNT (last I checked!) :m_excited:

The first year it was in Maine, but I was unable to attend that one.
If you search, there should be a thread for it on here, Bob :monkey:=D

Yeah the hedge animals were s art because of their subtlety. The rabbit ramming itself into the fence when the hotel was burning is etched into my mind.
