We have a Jenn-Air so our drawer isn't a drawer. It houses the grease trap and the exhaust assembly. There is a hole in the back where the exhaust hose goes, which is much the same as a dryer hose (only greasy). We do store broiler pans and baking sheets on the right side.

But, once, it held something more... One late fall day a few years ago, a young possum figured out how to crawl up inside. It managed to disconnect the hose and there it was in the compartment. I heard it making noise, knocking around the pans down there so I opened it -- it opens with a hinged bottom -- and there he is, hissing at me. I called the hubby and we spent 20 minutes getting it into a pet carrier. He took it out to the river and let it go. The hose was reattached more firmly. :glare: ;;D

I know someone that had their clothes dryer exhaust plugged up by a possum. ;-D

I actually have used mine as a warmer, but that was years ago. Now I'm kind of afraid to open it. We have a brown recluse issue. They like to gather there and plan their attacks. I don't know why they are named "recluse". They are down right feisty and will chase you. I've heard that citrus annoys them. So I polish everything with Lemon Pledge. But I found one hanging out on top of lime in my kitchen. They aren't afraid of anything. Anyhow, let's call my drawer the Brown Recluse Bunker.

Sadly, I no longer have a drawer under my oven. When we moved into our current house (now going on 13 years ago) we wanted to replace the appliances. We were told that we needed a drop-in stove, so that's what we ordered. Then came to find out that just means an oven with no drawer. I'm waiting for it to kick the bucket, so I can get a nice, new slide-in range, with a drawer, which I may then use for warming! Stay tuned!=D

Insane, but I just thought that SK can write an excellent horror story about what`s happening in that drawer when nobody is paying attention...

Sorry, sorry, didn`t mean to highjack the thread, I`m going to bed, gotta stop laughing somehow...:)
I have a list of names so I can put a check mark next to those who are going to take the thread title down to dirtyville....I know who you people are. Let the games begin! ;;D

EEP! I not only wouldn't open the drawer, I'd quit using the stove entirely. Those brown recluse spiders are seriously dangerous. We had an area outside by the chimney that never got sun so the brown recluse spiders took it over. Weeds that grew there never got pulled lol.
