I, Dale Dapkins, was named father of Social Science Fiction after I won the Grand Prize two years in a row in the blind-read Lorian Hemingway Short Story Competition in 1999 and 2000. After that it's been all down hill. Just kidding. What is social Science Fiction anyway? It's basically science fiction married to historical fiction taking place within the family. For example. . while growing up Jesus was spoken out loud to by both my parents and my Gramma Jelly as if he was right there in the room with us. If I needed or really wanted something (like. . a girl?) I'd talk privately to Jesus asking if he'd see what he could do. Most times it did no good, but sometimes I got what I asked for. Hey, you never know. Jesus was like the lottery. You could win big. That said. . I'm announcing my publishing my new book on Amazon (because no publisher or agent would even read it) AMERICAN BROCCOLI. It's about the first broccoli plant too cross over and live the life of a human. The story is told by the plant's 14 yr old step daughter who uses new computer auto-write programs to write each chapter . . programs which allow her to dial-up the style of famous writers such as STEVEN KING, Hemingway, Hunter Thompson, J.D.Salinger, Dr. Suess and others. The broccoli (named Evox) is pursued throughout the 600 + pages by a not-so-nice
broc cover 4email.jpg botanist intent on patenting his DNA.
