After the thalidomide scare in the 50's I don't really trust what the government wants to inject me with. I had my booster shots as a youth, and a flu shot once several years ago at my wife's behest. No more though.

I don't get the flu, so I don't get the shot.
Grandma's susceptible to catching the flu, so she gets the shot. And then she doesn't get the flu either. Although, yes, sometimes the predictability is off for that year's strain, and you get a higher percentage of ineffectual attempts.

We were told that the flu strain had already mutated when the flu shots were being given in November.
