Hi - I meant to say something in the God Bomb thread but got distracted - happy to hear your dad's surgery went well. You're both in my prayers!

My oldest daughter was never a surly mouthy teenager. She couldn't bear to hurt my feelings - she was around 20 before she did such, and she was away at college, so I could just hang up the phone. But these two younger ones - ugh! I keep thinking I should just go stay at a friend's house for a few days and let them figure things out. Then they might appreciate me.

Le sigh. I have to take my leave now. Y'all have a great Saturday!
Thank you!

(thanks for the reminder, Holly!) I might have missed an update on your dad do1you9love? how is he doing?

Hey! I got an alert that I was mentioned! =D

He's doing really well, thanks! They removed the diseased kidney and part of the vein, and 3 lymph nodes. It had not invaded the vein that goes into the stomach. He is feeling good and walking as much as he can. He goes to meet the oncologist next week to discuss further treatments!
Thanks for asking.

I am!! I always have one on the dining room table (as we never dine there!). I'm more of a 500 piece puzzle girl and they take me forever, unless my husband decides to sit down and work it- he's fast at puzzles. That's a very cool puzzle you're working on. It would probably take me 5 years, so 2 is not so bad. Someone usually gives me one for my birthday and Christmas.

Hi EMARX ! I feel like I haven't seen you in forever.

I have a catechesis training to go to today - have to leave here in 20 mins and be gone all day. It'll be good for me. The kids are teenagers - they don't need or appreciate me anymore. I never thought I'd miss those days when they were toddlers needing me every second of their life, but I do.
Hi Holly! Our ships do seem sail on different nights. And don't worry about your kids, I have 2 in their 20's and 2 in their 30's and trust me they will revert to the toddler stage many times.
I don't know what catechesis training is, but lets guess and say......catholic yoga? ;)

LOL - Catholic Yoga for the soul. I teach religious ed - known in Protestant circles as Sunday school, but it's a very specific type: Catechesis of the Good Shepherd - it's a marriage of Montessori education and Catholic religious ed for children. Lovely program really. Only 96 hours of training to be certified for a volunteer position. But I do enjoy it. And it was in a lovely old downtown church that was really cool to wander around during breaks. I've got 56 hours done. Aren't you glad you asked?

I enjoy seeing you around here - you're so darn quick witted and funny!

Speaking of quick witted and funny: did I see Neesy on the board today? I must find her!

So, I like to do jigsaw puzzles now and then. My favorite are 1000 piece puzzles. I go through phases with this, where I'll do one puzzle every couple days, to one every couple of years. The one I'm doing now, I started over two years ago! Life got hectic causing me to have to put the puzzle away for a while. Earlier tonight I realized this puzzle is kicking my @$$...I rarely have this much difficulty putting one together. This is a picture of the one I'm doing now...great Escher picture called Relativity. :)

Anybody else a puzzle person? :)
I put together quite a few puzzles over the snowed-in winters I spent living on the farm several years ago.

I'm glad you elaborated, Holly. Though I have no religious faith myself and a healthy disdain for acts committed in the name of "God", strangely enough I'm fascinated by the rituals and lore of both the Catholic and Jewish religions and the daily practices of its followers.

Hope all have a great day!! Last day off. Tomorrow my new work begin. Oh gosh that I am nervous. I hope I get some sleep
tonight and aren't too tired tomorrow morning.

Two weeks has passed with only sun and hot weather. Now it started to rain. Everything is so dry, so this rain does good.

My hometown have a celebration this weekend. On Saturday it's meant to shoot fireworks. But if it's too dry they prohibit fireworks
to prevent ground and forest fire. But if it's rain these three days now, it can be possible for us to shoot fireworks. We still haven't got
permission about the firework shooting.

Take care of you and be well. Please stay safe you all!!!!!!

(((all in need or not)))
Great to hear you got a new job - get in there and show them what you can do!

Good morning, Tet mates! We've got a bit of thunder and rain here today - hooray! I made the coffee weak, so that's a bummer. I've gone from my beloved French press to a standard coffee maker. Now that the boy is in high school, he has to walk out the door at 6:30 - so I've got to have him fed and lunch packed early. I got one of those coffee makers that you can program to start itself - which is nice because coffee comes before all the things. But I was too lazy to grind more beans last night, so= hello weak coffee. Y'all help yourself, bacon and omelettes as soon as I get a second cup.

I feel like the Spinning Dance should be playing as my theme music today--lol. Getting kids back to school, last shopping, fussing with my daughter's college, back to school night for LilMan, and getting the Halloween story organized (that's the fun part--lol). MUST REMEMBER TO FEED THE WEE BEASTIES SOMEWHERE IN THERE.

Mark and I did a weekend trip for our 25th anniversary (tomorrow), and it was wonderfully refreshing to get away from home and kids for a couple of days. Lots of walking, lots of good food, time together... bliss. Back to the grind today :)

Hope everyone had a great day, with lots of love and green lights. I'll probably check the story threads when I get LilMan to bed tonight, so get your ideas in there, writers!
Happy 25th - Wow!
