Heart of the South
Checking in. I'm still around. Just sick as a dog in the great white north. Helping my kid take care of some business, then I'll be back home in the deep south, watering my plants and chasing after my cats. And getting some serious work done. Great things ahead for your favorite Lady of Lepp.
:fox:
Oh no! Feel better Lepp! Hope things get straightened out for your kids. They never stop needing us, do they?

Has anyone read Elizabeth George's books? I just got one in the mail (for review), and it's a brick. Needs to be done by the 27th of October (release date). I'm not familiar with her work--is she a 'needs total concentration' writer?
Sounds heavy! Let me know what you think of her.

We have our Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend and I just cannot get enthused about buying a turkey. It is so much work for the end result and then I get stuck with way too many leftovers.

Perhaps I will "think outside the box" this year.

Do any of your churches sell turkeys? Our Knights of Columbus, and others around the city, also do grilled, smoked and fried turkeys at Thanksgiving. It's so worth it to me to pay someone else $35 to cook my turkey. Plus I love fried turkey and I'm too scared to try to do it myself. $35 total, they provide the turkey and cook it. You just pick it up the night before.

Happy Thanksgiving! Buy the turkey, make the pie!

something is really wrong with that turkey
Laws, yes. There's something scarily wrong with that turkey. You might be right on the udders.
