Anyhoo, hope everyone is well...take care folks.

I was watching a science program the other day and there is good proof the first Americans came from Western Europe at a point in history during the ice age when a frozen land bridge existed between Western Europe to around Virginia. The oldest artifact found in America is a spear point discovered in a prehistoric campsite in Virginia which was determined to be as much as 17,000 years old, 5,500 years older than any discovered Clovis sites.
There has been discussion about the exact ost and time for the land bridge to occur sometime between 30000 and 12000 are the dates. In all probability at least three times a group of people wandered in. The bering land bridge is most likely from both archeaological and genetic/DNA point of view. The spear point says nothing about the place of a landbridge. I mentioned the Clovis people as a starting point for a lecture on north americas indians, not as the first people ever to put a foot on american soil.

They showed the spear point, and examples equal to those of Western Europeans of approximately the same time. From geological studies they showed what the land bridge looked like at about 24,000 years ago and it extended down to Virginia.

What that picture shows is not a land bridge, it is the extension of ice during the ice age. A landbridge is where people could walk across on land, not ice, to move to another continent or Island. Nice spearhead. Excellent. That there were connection between Western Europe and America through ice has never been in doubt but that does not equal a landbridge.

You're right, it's just what I call the frozen ice areas that could have been crossed between Asia/Europe and America.
