We got a longer vacation in the nordic countries (and perhaps the rest of europe too?). It is usually 4-6 weeks depending on work, age and year in the company.
Wow! in January 2016 I will have 10 years at the Health Sciences Centre so they will move me up to five weeks off per year, vs. only four.

The thing is, there are three people ahead of me in seniority and they get to choose first. The only reason I get three weeks off in a row this year, is that two out of those three people decided to have babies and got an entire year off!

(Cripes - when I had my kids we were only allowed 105 calendar days off - that was the Canadian military however) (and back in the 80s).

Sounds good! (Do you have a green thumb?)

I am going to put my new GreenWorks weed whacker together today and tackle the back yard - it is getting pretty high out there.
Yeah, or at least I like fresh vegetables enough to get my lazy butt working :D Mark got a fresh load of garden soil today, so it looks like that's my task, once I get the shopping put away. No rest for the wicked--lol

Well THAT was fun. I just got done resetting my laptop to factory default. Wiped the whole thing clean and started over. I'd picked up a bug, a trojan I couldn't shake, so it was the last step left to me. It seems to have worked. So far. Wish me luck that it stays that way.

Currently smiling like the cat that ate the canary :) I stopped at a yard sale after picking up DD#2 from play practice and bought a KitchenAid Epicurean with a 6qt bowl and 425W motor for $20. I've wanted one for a while, but the cost was prohibitive. Pretty sure the guy who sold it is going to be killed when the woman of the house gets home. I also got my 2 remaining garden beds prepped for planting tomorrow, shopped for food and put it all away, and weeded the bed I got planted before Rainpocalypse. The Man is making dinner now.

A good day.

Not necessarily. Sometimes people are just done with stuff and want it out! I just donated a car! That was in GREAT running order. We just wanted it gone and they didn't want to give us anything for it 1989 Toyota. So, we will take it on our taxes instead.

See? Now I can feel better :) That's a great idea on your car, by the way. I'm trying to get The Man to relent and do that with the non-running Suburban in our driveway. He's been 'going to fix it up and sell it' for three or four years now.

Donate it to your local PBS. Then you can write it off for taxes and you help a great station do business!
