Possibility- unmarried, no children, in a state facility. County send out delinquent noticed for maintenance and taxes- no reply at that address, returned. How much does the county really move forward to locate the owner? It is easier to send the notices, place it up for auction on delinquent taxes and such. Does your county post land auctions on line?

If it gets to the point of seizure, I'm sure the county has to make a good attempt to serve paperwork on a human somewhere. The unpaid tax certificates get purchased by people who can force a sale but I'm not sure of how long that takes.

If she did die and had no heirs and no will and had assets, I'm not sure how that is handled.

If laws have not changed since my mom made her FL will- no will, no relatives- state has it free and clear.

Creepy version....no one's entered the house for several years and no one ACTUALLY saw the two ladies ever exit the house. Perhaps they never left for a reason......(key the English mystery music here GNT):)

And didn't anyone think twice about that strange odor coming from the house? (Yup, I've been working for Steve too long! :D)

Perfect......:)

She might be in a home, unaware or unable to take care of the back issues. A shame. County isn't aggressive in mailing or tracking down people.
If you can't track down her relatives, look the state laws surrounding the transfer of property. I know Indiana has vaguely written laws, can't speak to the others. Quitclaim could be a possibility. . .not to sound unrealistic.

Morning, I was sleeping, having a pleasant dream when the little guy wanted to climb in and snuggle with mommy. I gave in:facepalm_smiley: He is snuggly and so sweet, how could I say no? :moon:I tried "no no munchkin, it's the middle of the night, dude go night night, mommy is sleeping". Now mommy is awake and Alex is sleeping.

I buy this brand of seasoning salt and it has one of those old school Parmesan cheese tops where you have to break off the plastic tab but it doesn't completely break off and it hangs down in the container and if it does break off it drops into the salt. What is the purpose of these kind of tops? Can anyone give me one reason why they exist? ;-D
