Something called Allupurinol and something called Naproxen (against the pain). To take steadily even after the pain goesaway to stop it from comi ng back.
Yep, Allopurinol is the standard gout med. I was given pain pills, as well, but I don't like them at all. I think I took one or two, when the pain was excruciating, but ibuprofen did just as well once the other meds took hold. For me, they did the uric acid test and also tested the fluid in my knee. Now THERE was some pain. I never want to go through that again.

I'm seriously considering whether SOMEONE released Captain Trips. This virus that is going around is horrible and cyclical. I can't count how many people I know who have been sick in waves since right after Christmas. Our doc said it is viral (so no drugs do much of anything), and it's so nasty that anyone with it should stay away from babies and the elderly. Pretty scary stuff (as my hacking comes on AGAIN for the third consecutive weekend).

I love that idea! Unfortunately, it's illegal to send alcohol through the mail in my state. Poopyheads.
Sounds to me like a good reason to move....
Interesting what you said about gout. I tried Iboprofen but it didn't do anything for me. We'll see how i feel on the subject when the pain go away completely. It has diminished considerably so i'm hoping a few days more and i can walk without limping again.

It didn't work for me until the other med took hold--not strong enough to compete with that level of pain. Once it did, though, the IB was enough.

First bout I had with gout, my toes had been tingling, and not in a good way, for about a day. Couldn't figure it out, full blown gout came on during the next night. Thought I having a heart attack in my foot. Even putting a sheet over my foot was excruciating. I don't go to the doctor unless death is eminent, but I took off work the next day and drove myself to the doc. It sucked in a major way.

Ugh. Deadly filo viruses do not play well into my vision of the apocalypse. Remember reading the Hot Zone years ago and then a massive Ebola break actually happened? I thought we were gonners for sure.

Barkeep? I'll take a gallon of coffee and a tank of oxygen. I'm cranked up and hyperventilating.

...and a cinnamon bun. I don't know who put those there, but I'm stealing one.

Cinnamon bun? Is that your code for Fireball? Someone took my bottle, young lady. I'm watching you...and if you see that Muskie, tell him he still hasn't paid his tab!

Something a little different....

Have a great Monday :smile2: (((all in need or not)))

That was great Spidey!
Just stopping in to say hello. I am sending healing vibes to all who are under the weather. I can relate. I have a sinus cold that has been hanging around since Friday. There isn't an ibuprofen/sinus pill that can touch this headache. Saying prayers for all who are in the path of storms/high winds.
Hope you're feeling better soon (((Becks.)))
