One should not stay up later than one should with one's thoughts as their sole confidant. Because then one writes this:

-----

You raise your kids, and every day is an eternity in meeting the mechanics of life. You trudge on, working to meet your familial needs, and giving your children some occasional profound statements, like you wish you could all the time. But it turns out that most of your life is spent on the motions of trying to keep the roofs over your heads, food channeled down their gullets, and keeping the cave heated.

And then they're grown. And you wonder where the time went, because all the things you wanted to tell them, all the cool stuff you imagined you'd introduce them to, all the matters of body, mind, and spirit that you'd wanted to imbue them with, are so much detritus strewn behind you on the path of life. You've de-escalated your hopes of forming them into modern superheroes and settled for daring to think that they are productive citizens and will stay out of jail.

And you're left to wonder one thing.

Where did the time go?

----

Mental emesis over. Good night, friends.

From the good ol Midwest
Results of Canning Weekend, 20-21 AUG 16:
9 bottles bread & butter, 17 bottles dilly bean, 13 bottles green tomato, 14 bottles garlic dill.
here's a pic or two:
View attachment 17092 View attachment 17093 View attachment 17094 might have done that last one at 6:20 this morning, but it's still not posted yet. that's that's the green tomato pickles I brewed yesterday, bottled this morning. We have pickles! And the garden isn't through, yet. Might make some salsa at some point...probably need to make salsa to make use of the red tomatoes as they ripen. Nothing beats a garden tomato...Roma, Early Girl, Better Boy, orange and red Cherry, a couple other varieties I forget their name. Happy Sunday! :)
Walter that is awesome. It makes me miss my Grandmother. She had woods with wild raspberries behind her house. She made many pies/cobblers and jars of jam during my childhood.

OK......so the doctor said that the infection is gone for the most part, but I still have lots of swelling and pressure in my ears and sinuses. I have another round of low dosage steroids, a high dosage of allergy medicine, and a prescription nasal spray. He said if I'm not feeling a lot better in a couple of weeks, I'll be referred to an ENT specialist.
.....I've decided that if I'm not feeling better in a few weeks, but not feeling worse, that I'm gonna learn to live with it. I'm afraid of going to an ENT.

.......Now, I have to learn how to squirt nasal spray up my nose. Should be interesting.

That is one nasty infection! Hope this round of meds does the trick but please don't "learn to live with it" if it doesn't. That can sometimes lead to much worse things happening and your body would be constantly trying to fight off even a low-grade infection which will put that much more stress on your immune system. I haven't been paying enough attention. Get better, Sunny, and soon.
