Send me those pinecones! I can make things from them and sell them to all these people looking to spend their money.....I could send Croco down to eat them all. He's pretty full though. We've had a bumper crop of pine cones, another harbinger of a bad winter, so he's been out getting rid of them for me........
You can make a seriously pretty xmas wreath with them.Send me those pinecones! I can make things from them and sell them to all these people looking to spend their money.....
I make several every year. They sell quite well.You can make a seriously pretty xmas wreath with them.

We don't find many good ones here any more. Maybe enough to make 8 or 10 wreaths.I have literally hundreds of them. I know I kid a lot, but if I went out and picked them up you wouldn't see me again until I..............................
I remembr the wooleybear festival. Dick Goddard started it many moons ago.Yep Neesy, that's the varmit....... they have an entire weekend dedicated to it, and even race the things. The race winner gets to predict the severity of the weather for the winter......
Just tried - turned off the back porch light, walked out there (wearing my T-shirt, socks and underwear!) and it was too cloudy to see anything - terribly windy, thoughHas anyone seen any of the Orionid meteor shower tonight? I turned out the back porch light (the neighbors' lights are out, too) and looked up at the dark purple sky gauzy with a few lone, cold stars. I didn't see any meteors but I did hear the familiar eight notes of a barred owl across the road. My mind drifted in thought and arrived at an old quote from Shakespeare that I like:
"Or, if there were a sympathy in choice,
War, death, or sickness did lay siege to it,
Making it momentary as a sound,
Swift as a shadow, short as any dream;
Brief as the lightning in the collied night,
That, in a spleen, unfolds both heaven and earth,
And ere a man hath power to say 'Behold!'
The jaws of darkness do devour it up:
So quick bright things come to confusion."
...whoo-hoo!!!....My favorite little blondie was chosen to be principal for a day. She had her own walkie-talkie and clipboard, and loved every minute.
