Oh my, so sorry. Dana and Neese.

This is why I don't have any pets Bad word to call them that - I just can't take another heartbreak. I stayed and held my pups hand while it happened. So quick. She had cancer. I tried everything with all the best vet hospitals. U of Penn... everyone They just said, 'you will know when it's the time"

They had to take me away from her, lying next to her a blanket on the floor. Never forget it. ever. Broke my heart. forever.

It's so heartbreaking because they look at you with those eyes that are confused and don't understand what's happening. And you can't explain to them what's going on and how much you love love love them.

edit.

I was typing about my sad experience with this, and did not want to take away from Neesy's pain.

It's okay - I would have been fine with reading your story - it happened on Wednesday and I think we have all come to terms with it. i.e. the humans

My other cat, Bailey is so much more clingy now. I am brushing him a lot, giving him treats and paying a lot of attention to him. [he is probably still a bit confused]

Neesy, I'm so sorry you lost your cat. I think I told you I grew up with a Siamese cat, Mittens. They can be loud and aloof, but I still cry thinking about that kitty. I had her since I was five and went away to college 13 years later. My mom called one week on a Wednesday and said she was not doing well and probably wouldn't make it through the night. I cried and cried knowing I wasn't with this kitty who had slept next to me every night, listened to teenage Dana spill her secrets, and meowed her secrets right back to me. When I was able to come home that Friday, I was surprised to see my sweet friend had waited for me. She died less than an hour later in my arms. It was the first time I saw my dad cry. I will never forget him saying, "I'm crying some about the cat, but mostly because you're hurting so much. She waited to die until you could come home and say goodbye. "

I know you are sad. Seeing the picture of your beautiful cats made my heart hurt for you. I hope you don't mind my telling you my story. Siamese cats are different and special. So sorry for your loss.
Now I have tears too - thanks Danie

The vet's office sent a sympathy card on Friday - you're right - it was so sad - I still have the little carrier in the back of my Jeep - I couldn't even bring it in the house.

I did love that cat - he was a beautiful cat - now I have tears pouring out - maybe it is good to grieve rather than holding it in - thanks to you both ♥

Just seeing this. Bailey will need lots of extra love.

Darn it, Danie, Now you made me cry!! I remember as a teen when my pet cat Tarzan died. We buried him at our countryhouse. Losing a furfriend hurts. (((Neese)))

Sorry to hear about your cat Neesy. I have a couple of my old friends in crematorium jars on a shelf in my living room. I've found that over time, the remains mean nothing to me, but the happy memories of those goofy pals is what always comes back.

I had that too, with my Clancy McGhee. I finally had a hole dug, He was scattered without the urn. And planted a tree.

I did not watch the ashes going in there.

Whew! Someone tell a joke. :flustered:

My niece drove over the newly planted Japanese Maple for Clancy. How did that happen?
It was way off the driveway.. I was not happy, made me cry again.
