Wow - where is everyone? (on vacation?) Well, I should not complain, since I was "missing in action" for a couple of weeks myself due to going way up North to visit Andy and then the recent King Kon 2014. (Scott - if you happen to see this, thanks a million once again for organizing this - you made it a great time for everyone!) GNTLGNT; and say hi to Tracy, too!

So it is back to reality for me. It is time to go get ready for my first day back to the normal world again i.e. work (gasp!) I hope I can remember how to type operative reports!

Have a great day everyone :byebye:

Neesy - there's all kinds of gravies to love. In my house, we put the brown gravy on mashed potatoes or Salisbury steak. The white/gray color gravy is sausage gravy that many put on biscuits or other breakfast foods, but I can eat it with a spoon if I have to. You can make it with any kind of flavored fat - sausage, bacon. Just one more reason to love pork. I always have a jar of pork fat in the fridge.

Much love to all y'all. Back to work Monday.

Monday again! :sigh: Good morning all!

By gravy - do you mean that sausage gravy that is sort of a white colour? We saw some in a slow cooker in Wisconsin as part of the complimentary breakfast and I thought it was oatmeal at first. :m_whatwhat:
Up North the only gravy I knew before that was a brown colour - no offense!

Oatmeal?? LOL You crazy canooks!;;D

What Holly said! It's only sausage gravy if you use sausage to make it. In a pinch, I have even made it with a bunch of butter!

So, in summary, there is white gravy for biscuits and such, brown gravy for mashed potatoes and salisbury steak, and don't forget turkey gravy which can vary in color but is much thinner than either of the others. This completes Gravy 101.

Now I want some gravy, dang it!:angry_002:

Happy Monday everyone!!
Hope all had a great weekend. My weekend was fully of experience. Friday I just took it easy after work and we didn't do much with boyfriend.
Saturday I worked. But after work on the evening, I and my boyfriend, my boyfriend's friend and his girlfriend went out on the sea with my boyfriend's
boat. We had so fun. We drove with the boat to a beach where we went and swim after that we just drove with the boat on the sea. Oh it was so
relaxing to be on the sea. It was almost 11 pm and the water was calm and no sound anywhere. It's a place where your mind rest. We had very
relaxing, until boyfriend leaning front of the boat and dropped his expensive sunglasses in the water. Jeez then it became a scream. He yell to his
friend that turn the boat so he can reach them. But all the time they went under the boat and he could't reach them. Soon they was gone. He
wasn't very mad when he lost them but a little annoyed. I told him that maybe it wasn't very good idea to take those to the sea. He smiled to me and said
yeah it wasn't a very good idea. Yesterday we did a second boat trip. Again we was all four. This time we drove a little further and it was a very jumpy
ride was pretty much waves. But thankfully the wind calmed down and it was better to drive back with the boat. A weekend full of adventure for me.
The weather was the best. 30C/86F and sunny both Saturday and Sunday.

Here is a picture of me and my boyfriend. Those sunglasses he lost at the sea. This picture was taken before he lost them.

Good morning and happy Monday!

I am still trying to catch up on rest after all the fun last week. But I don't feel too terrible, really. Kids are still at the grandparent's house, so we did a whole lotta nuttin' on Saturday and yesterday was pretty laid back too, hubby had to sleep for night shifts.

Kids will be home in a couple hours, though, and RJ will be here this afternoon, so it's back at it for me! Lots of posts to catch up on. :icon_eek: A person misses a LOT in a week! I haven't even had a chance to look and read about the Kon yet.

In the meantime, this song has been stuck in my head since Brad Paisley sang it Thursday night, so I hope to leave you all with a little earworm, too. Enjoy!

Scott got some really awesome pictures at the rodeo but have to wait until he puts them on the 'puter before I can share them!

Have a really great day everyone! I missed you guys! Big hugs and positive vibes to all!

Nice pics Jojo! Sounds like a fun weekend!

Tell your boyfriend that I have learned from years of experience, the more I pay for sunglasses, the sooner I tend to lose or break them. If I get a cheap or free pair, they last me for years! LOL

Yesterday he had a pair of sunglasses on the sea, he got for free when he had bought two energy drinks. He still have them. Those he did not dropped.
I hope he learned now and never take any stuff that's expensive out on the sea.

We lost pawpaw at 4:30 this morning. Thanks so much for all your well wishes.
Most important, Lepplady prayers to you, your family and Pawpaw traveling to the heavenly home. ((((Lepplady and family))) No matter the death, it is heavy on everyone involved and touched by this subject.
I have a question for the Tet: I decided to try to make a new seat for an old chair we rescued from my mom's basement when she moved--it was on its way to the dumpster, but it looked nice to me. Anyway, I removed what was left of the old caned seat and found a date. 188_ (can't read the last number). Would anyone know if this is worth having professionally restored? I know very little about antique furniture.
Mod has stated truth, as for restoring old pieces of antique (furniture or other wise) may be big big expensive if you are wanting it done correctly and looks proper of the time. As for just wanting an awesome chair, take your time to restore it with care. May lose money value but the other value may go way up. When me and my lady were moving some of my stuff into her apartment, we found out the desk I have been painting on is actually a hundred and two years old. Was built in 1912, my mom bought said desk for a stealing price. There is a table cloth on the desk now so no more paint gets onto it.
I was volunteering at a summer youth program, I barbeque burgers on Friday. Saturday and Sunday my lady and I went fishing at a couple local lakes. Only thing I caught is a bad sun burn. In all great weekend.

I think my Grandma on my Dad's size (who was French from Quebec) probably made this type of sausage gravy you are describing. She was a whiz in the kitchen and it is sad that I never really got to know her. She died when I was only about five months old.

This reminds me of when Joan Rivers used to do those jokes about Elizabeth Taylor (just because she had gotten a bit plumpish)
e.g. "Did you hear Elizabeth Taylor got her ears pierced?"
"No."
"Gravy came out"

It sounded funnier when Joan said it - she had a good delivery I guess!
