I have to give up on somebody I respect and thought of as a potential friend. I don't make that choice easily, but if somebody can't give me the same respect and can mock or demean me simply for the sake of winning an argument that never needed to be one, it's not something worth saving. Pretty much done with it.

And tomorrow evening I will start a trip to Munich to attent at a conference. Will be fun, hopefully.

Neesy - Damn scammers! Your son probably feels horrible. I have some elderly friends who had the same thing happen to them. You'll get it straightened out - it's just a pain. I tried to use my debit card last Sunday and it was declined. I knew I had money in the bank, so I rush home and check my account - sure enough, someone had drained. Riverview Florida charges, and I'm not there. Bank has been pretty helpful, but still... fraud bites.

I found out that my number had been compromised when I tried to use my debit card at a place I usually don't shop and my card was declined. Same as you, Holly, I checked why (knew there was $ in the account, of course) and found out that someone had tried to use my number to buy a plane ticket in Alaska. My credit union declined that transaction and then froze the use of my card at any place I don't usually go. Took me a while to find out about it because I'm a creature of spending habit & missed my credit union's call to inform me (I rarely even look at the home phone, let alone look at the messages--lol). Anyway, I wasn't out anything but a bit of time to check things out and get a new card, and I LOVE my credit union for recognizing a big red flag when the initial charge came in.
