She going to eat all that? :D
She'll put a dent in it. That kid can EAT. And according to her growth chart, she MIGHT top out at 5'.
Adorable, and I can totally tell she's sassy, in a good way.
She most DEFINITELY has a personality. But she's the sweetest, most polite kid you could hope to find.
She's adorable!! :)
Tankee. :)

I
Y'all, I can't even catch up with the Tet tonight. I've got a project - 16 hours of dictation to transcribe by Wednesday. I can't even have a glass of wine. I'm trying to get it all done by Tuesday so I can at least review it. Neesy I wish you were here to help me. December, December, December....
I'd be happy to help you with that!

I just switched to my computer and a real keyboard - that "Smart" (dumb) phone is so hard to type on! :m_phone: (no - mine does not look like this one )

Hey there!

Your mind health score is:
99.9%

This is a lie. In fact, my mind is presently deeply out of balance, and I blame the American healtcare system. I was injured on the job at the beginning of July. (My back, once again reminding me that I'm not a youngster, and have heaped and piled enough abuse on this body to all but kill it, many times over.) Due to a series of events, I just got a claim number today, so I haven't seen a doctor since I've been back. And I was also given some bogus information from a billing person in one of the numerous doctor's offices I called, saying that I should not self-pay because they might just use that to deny the claim, and the worker's comp office would give me no answer on that without a damned claim number. Bureaucracy makes me want to scream.

Meanwhile, I've been stuck here in East Hell, with a serious vitamin sea deficiency. So I did what I usually do when I'm here, which is to spiral into a deep depression. I can't live like this.

The good news is that I now have that claim number, and can therefore go to the local urgent care clinic (I can't find a local doctor that will take worker's comp) and get some movement on getting better. And my boss says she'll take me back if I can get a conditional release (ie, no heavy lifting.) Which means that I could be on a boat by next week if all goes well.

Either way, this Kafkaesque situation at least looks to be improving a little.
Welcome back - how is your octopus?

I make really good chili (he said immodestly), but in my many decades of life, I've never tried green chili a/k/a chili verde. I started to wonder why.

My smattering of cookbooks didn't have it. I went online. I didn't like their recipes.

So I got home a bit early today and started doing things up. Most of the recipes I saw called for pork, but I wanted shredded chicken. So I cooked that up and used some specialty spices, local blends, from a downtown spice store. I cut up a bunch of chili peppers we got from a farmers market setting that I (incorrectly) thought were not that hot and sauteed them up with more spices. After a thought, added some bell peppers. Couldn't find onion, and kicked myself all over the kitchen for neglecting that.

Put it all together with chicken stock, water, more spices, and a whole jalapeno to get the taste without the heat. Let it go for a while on the heat, added some milk, some canned spiced tomatoes, and flour for consistency.

Result: With one exception, pretty good. That exception was that Grandma accused me a number of times during the meal of trying to kill her. It turned out to be pretty hot, spice-wise. I melted cheese on hers, brought her sour cream, fixed up some quesadilla wedges to go with it, and we poured milk.

I know what to do next time. Cut back on the chili peppers, increase the bell peppers, and use more meat. That was the other thing - it wasn't quite meaty enough. But it sure was tasty. She kept telling me so in between the accusations of attempted murder.

Privately, I'm a little worried about what her complaints might be in the morning.

There'll be a line up at the washroom door! (poor Grandma - I wonder how she is feeling today?)

Actually Grandpa - you know that all that capsaicin is actually quite good for you? :smile2::laugh::belial::hell_boy: - I rubbed capsaicin cream on my left hip when I had shingles in February 2013 - that hurt like a bugger but helped to bring out the pain in the nerves (or so the theory goes).

Hope everyone has a good day today - I am NOT skipping the gym after work today so I hope to get on here later today (say after 6 p.m. or so)
