Good morning!

Was 1st day of deer and antelope season here yesterday. Hubby got a nice doe. :) Evan also has a deer tag but we didn't let him go yesterday. Didn't want him missing school because when elk season opens in a few weeks, he will be missing a few days then. This weekend they will be going for the antelope. Tonight or first thing tomorrow morn, we will get the doe butchered. It's a good start! (But, also means a whole lotta work the next few days, and what I really need is a couple days of a whole lotta nuttin' going on. ;))

Hope you all have a really nice day. Sending big hugs and positive vibes to all! :love_heart:

*Anti-gravity thoughts for Walter!*

I've got a local friend who's refused to watch what goes into her mouth, since long before she was "pre" diabetic. Now she's full-blown type 2 and keeps going to the hospital with blood sugar levels over 500. I've been steadily verbally smacking her around, telling her to watch what she eats. She says "Yeah, I know." and keeps right on doing it.
Now, her kidneys are in danger of failing.
She says she's got an appointment to talk to a weight loss surgeon. That's a great thing, and the surgery WILL work. But she's still going to have to exercise some self-control. The surgery is just a tool. She'll still have to watch what she eats, or she'll be right back where she is now. Having been through the surgery myself, I've offered my services as coach and cheerleader.
I just hope she finally catches wise and acts to save her life.

Object Sensation!

Impressive! How the fudge nuggets did you even recognize some of these?! You're all about figuring out what you are looking at in life whether it's an object or a person. If you friends were smart, they wouldn't try to pull a fast-one on you because chances are, you'll figure it out as well. You enjoy the unknown, but also like solving mysteries. Chances are, if someone gave you a cue tip, 3 rocks, a marshmallow, and a piece of wood...you could build a house AND unlock a safety deposit box - WHAT!!! You make good use of all things around you and that is one of your greatest gifts. Share this and see if your friend would even know what to do with a toothpick, never mind the rest!

I've found eating adjustments as difficult to accept as any challenge I can remember. I personally understand a person's willingness to choose to die slowly from bad eating, rather than to face lifestyle changes which are next to impossible to conceive of. I'm not really making an excuse for people like your friend and me; just reporting the facts, as I personally perceive that I experience them in reality. My best wishes for her, nevertheless. Maybe she'll decide she can do it. I hope so.

She's not dying slowly. She's not even 40 yet and she's on the fast track.
She says she's talking to her doctor about weight loss surgery, but if she's not mentally prepared for the lifestyle change it takes to make it work, the surgery will just be a speed bump. Not a solution.

I can not believe that I am still fighting with PA unemployment. Everytime that I give them info that they ask for, they come back and ask for something else.
Last was Doctors notes. I had to appeal twice. They got the notes and now they tell me it will be 2 weeks until they make a decision. I am eligible. I am.
This has been going on since July 6th. With no income.

She's been satisfied with the rate of her dying; at least, hopefully until now. Hopefully she'll change her mind.

What a pain in the butt! I just hope it's retroactive until you first applied.

I'm done trying to sway her. She talks about making all these changes in her life, then in the next breath posts about what restaurant they went out to for dinner. Can't help somebody that doesn't want it.
Give it a year and I'll be going to her funeral.
