What Crime Did You Commit in Your Past Life?

Conducting the Underground Railroad
2e437214-f92f-43e1-8229-40d004b9260e.jpg

You were an outspoken abolitionist during the 19th century and made it your mission to do whatever it took to help slaves escape to freedom! This meant becoming a conductor of the Underground Railroad, a network of secret routes and safe houses that were established in order to help slaves find their way into free states and Canada. While living in Kentucky in 1861, your home served as a sanctuary in which slaves could eat a hot meal and sleep in a warm bed before heading across the border to Indiana, a free state. When a bounty hunter suspected you were assisting the slaves, you were turned in and accused of being an agent of the Railroad. You were taken to court and served some jail time, but you were soon released when Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation in January 1863, which freed not only the slaves, but you as well!
Me too.

Enjoy your alone time Jojo! It will just make you appreciate him more when he returns

Our snow melted a bit (not completely) as yesterday it went up to 0 degrees Celsius.
Have you guys in Finland got much snow yet? Jojo87 :umm::snowman:

Not as much as on the picture ;-D and not as much as some in US. But yes we have got some snow. I just wish we get snow
for Christmas. Forecast says it's very unlikely. Oops I said wrong yesterday when I said that I am all alone, I forgot that I have
two little kitties name Sandy and Jackson who keeps me company and thankfully Juho comes home today.

Have a great and safe Sunday SKMBers!!!

I have just been creative! Managed to find a way to rearrange my books without losing track of them. Thereby succeeding in opening up a meter (3 feet?) in my bookshelf. Much needed space since they have showed a tendency to overflow lately. Now i just have to decide what goes in that space... I leave that for tomorrow. Was just about to fall asleep when the idea struck me. I knew i had to act on it or let it lie. Lost some sleep but feel so much better. Isn't it strange that a little rearrangeing can make you feel so much better with yourself? As if you accomplished something really groundbreaking?

No they are not. I'd love a really super nice camera, and then someone would ahve to teach me how to use it.

The most important parts of the camera are the eye and the brain behind it. I can do decent shots, but one of the best shots I took, ever, was on a cheap(ish) consumer camera. A friend of mine invested heavily in camera equipment and ended up selling it. Her explanation: "I don't have the Eye. If you don't have the Eye, the equipment doesn't matter." All those features of a nice camera simply help the Eye actualize what it's seeing.

Digital has made it so much easier. I simply couldn't invest in the time, structure, frustration of film back when, even though my shots were still pretty good on an Instamatic. (For you youngsters, an Instamatic was the film version of the cheapest Nikon Coolpix, except it wasn't that good.)

Good day on a Monday for most (Tuesday for Flake?).

So this is the Thanksgiving Week for Americans? - does this mean most have Thursday off and then it is back to work on Friday?

It is minus 15 C here and my son has the day off so just me up at the moment. Better get crackin'

Love and green lights to everybody and take care of yourselves out there in the big bad world!
