Hey everyone, sorry I went AWOL for a while.... Stupidly thought, only a week in, I was coping magnificently with the passing of my mum, and then Steve's dad, but hey, all of a sudden it appeared not, and everything hit me pretty hard for a while. Reduced life down to the basics, did alot of reading, and an AWFUL lot of cooking (Mum was a trained chef, and I think i was trying to get closer and connected). Anyway, back now. When I get in tonight I look forward to reading on the threads I've missed. ((((All in need or not)))))

So good to see you. I know what you mean. I've been there a while too.

So. Did the guy that got hanged to it? Or the mortician? hmmm. I mean.. how easy does a silver dollar go down?
That is the question, isn't it?
And it didn't even need to be the mortician--maybe someone else in the town did it: parents, community leaders, whatever, didn't want any questions about whether they hanged the right man. I love a story with a bit of ambiguity!

skimom2 = ck out my spoiler in the story thread. Was that a foreshadowing to answer that question?

I'm really not sure! It seems like a no brainer to say yes, but...
I guess I'm like the sheriff--I didn't get the feeling he was bright enough to keep hiding the coin. Why would he? He was going to die anyway! Why wouldn't he have just spent it? Or stopped swallowing it when his sentence was passed? And how many times can a silver dollar go through someone? I have a very old silver dollar (from my grandpa's collection, passed down when he died), and that sucker is mighty big to be swallowed over and over, even if you could manage it once.

I am going to give away an emeraldring surrounded by small diamonds today. Will be interesting to see how the recipient will react.
Hmmm - sounds interesting - I hope it is someone very important to you! Take care Kurben and good night - it is late here and I must get up early.

Love and green lights :cheerful:

Don't get your hopes up, Neesy. It is a ring my mother had and i gonna give it to one of my cousins. Both my mom and I wanted it to be worn (do one say that about rings?) but since i'm not the ringtype of guy and she is my fave cousin and has two daughters so it can go on in the family. But it will come as a total surprise to her as she won't expect anything. Hope she likes emeralds. My dad and I bought it for moms 50,th birthday.

I think you cousin will treasure the ring. Let us know how it goes. Take good care of yourself, Kurben.
