Hey just stopping in to wish you a nice week!
I am sorry that I am lately not posting very much. But somehow I am busy.
And I decided that I should read way more SK so that's what I am doing in my spare time.
I really want to finish "It" still over 600 pages to go.
And then the Stand, Mr Mercedes, Rivival and so on...

Same here. Mowing season is fast approaching and my property line borders the woods so there always seems to be oak and ivy growing somewhere on my lot....have a good week.
I'm still getting new splotches, aside from the ones I'm already scratching. And this could go on for two more weeks? I'm DEFINITELY taking that advice.

On a happy note, I finally got a court date against my neighbor with the baying hounds (pit bulls, terriers, whatever else he's got over there). This week. The ironic thing is that half my face is covered with huge red bumps. Joy. But I'll tell ya what. I'll slap some concealer on 'em and go. I've waited for YEARS to get this inconsiderate a**hat in front of a judge.

Not that it will help this time Lepp, but a couple of times in the last ten years, I've had to go in for steroid shots because I'm severely allergic to poison oak or ivy. Once it gets into my bloodstream it will pop up in random spots all over, even in areas that weren't exposed to the sap. The doctor i saw the last time, about five years ago, gave me a strategy that I guess I never really thought about it. That doctor told me that the sap from oak, ivy, or sumac takes about three to six hours to soak into your skin, give or take. He told me to buy this stuff called Ivarest, which has antihistamines that slow down the reaction of the sap with your skin. He advised if I could get home as quickly as possible, scrub the areas with Ivarest that I thought might have had contact with the poison ivy, then jump in the shower and scrub down thoroughly with soap, I had a good chance of the sap not having time to get into my bloodstream. I guess there is something to what he said, because I haven't had a case in over five years now. I'm in the woods a lot fishing so I know I've walked thru it several times and I always make sure to use Ivarest and take a quick shower when I get home. So far, so good.
I think the Ivarest is the closest thing to actual prevention or at least relief available. I've always had a serious allergy to whatever the oil is in those plants, too. When I was a kid the only product for it was this pink liquid stuff which didn't really do much except make a big mess. I haven't had an infection in several years, I think due to being in a habit of looking out for the poison ivy leaf which I can spot as if I have radar for it.

Okay. So. Those weren't a couple of spider bites on my arm. It's a whole patch of angry red bumps all up my arm, and a couple spots on my face. And a couple on my legs for good measure. Looks like I got into some poison oak the other day when I was out gardening. The itch is MADDENING!!
So sorry - I think I'd rather have a spider bite. I don't react to Poison ivy, but the Ogre does. Really, really bad. Take care of that!

I am going to blow off an interview tomorrow. I have to . I am so worn down with it all. It is hard. Stay off craigslist. Never went there before.. some crazy azz stuff there.

But when you are desperate, I guess that is where they all hang.

This guy calls me. It is all the way up in NE Philadelphia. Craigslist. yes, I have now gone to looking for jobs there. Up on the alley, garage door might be open if not walk to the front he says, old factory building. I talked to this man once before on the phone. I was supposed to give samples of dwgs to him. Did not. he called back. Sounded drunk first time I spoke to him. Said it's an easy job. They need structural drawings. He said don't worry about the sign in front - I have not had time to change it to my company.

Legit? I dunno. I just know I need job.

In the meantime,, someone else is calling me for an art position tomorrow. Am waiting on the two from last week.

God, I need to just pull covers over my head and make this all go away and it all to be good again.

Hang tight, NN
Personally, I'd avoid that NE Philly interview. Way to not right-- too many gaps.
Stay positive and keep manifesting. When it is right, it will come to you. Test in patience. We are pulling for you!!

I think I'm going to the doctor tomorrow. I don't know if they can give me a shot or whatever, but I'm getting little blisters on my eyelids. They're EVERYWHERE. I gotta do something. Wish me luck.

Sometimes you win!

Over the weekend we were shopping and as we walked past the freezer aisle, hubby noticed an icecream pie with CAC labelling. (Certified Allergen Control). These pies looked really yummy. They were $6.95 which is not cheap....but not to high if they are good.

We bought the strawberry.

When we opened it after dinner, one side of the pie was just the crumb pie shell. It had obviously been held sideways, and the ice-cream slipped down. Taste wasn't to bad though.

Today I called the company and explained it. She is sending me a $10 card, as well as having it looked into, to see where the manhandling occurred.

So, I found two safe icecream pies (it also comes in chocolate) and I get to try the second for free.

The free is a small win....but it's still a win.

The safe ice-cream pie.....that's big. So hard to find ice-cream cakes or pies that I can eat AND continue breathing. ;;D

manhandled ice cream! Good for you for following thru on this. Now I want Ice cream. now.

Well, I didn't actually feel ripped off. We ate it and it tasted good. But I would not continue buying it if it's always like this, kwim?

I try to not get mean with CSRs. Whatever I am complaining about, it's not their fault. So I call and I don't yell or get nasty....and usually they offer something.
