Good Friday evening.

The Keepers

A seven-part docuseries about the unsolved murder of a nun and the horrific secrets and pain that linger nearly five decades after her death.

I watched the first episode and I was intrigued.

I just now started episode two (I'm 10 minutes in) and I think I'm going to throw up.

I have no idea how this is going to shake out.

I watched the first episode this morning. I was fully immersed in this story. The directing, editing, and subtle music score work together to keep the audience focused without jumpy distractions.
Wow...could Sister Cathy have a better advocate than Gemma? What a tiger.
It's a really sad case but I am hoping the documentary sheds more light on the mysterious murders. Thanks Sigmund for tagging me. I doubt I would have watched if you hadn't suggested it. Hope to watch another episode after while.
I'm intrigued.

I think you guys might like this.

I'm on the second to last episode and I like this very much.
You are correct Sigs and thank you! I've watched 4 episodes so far and it just gets more and more twisted. It simply amazes me the things that the Catholic church gets away with.
I agree with Doc C, Gemma and the rest of "The Keepers" are a hell of a great group of women still trying after all of these years.

Wow. This is a powerful documentary including murder, abuse and the methodical cover-up not only in the Catholic Church, but law enforcement and lots of people in power.

This is so disturbing. The Catholic Church really needs to get their sh*t together and quit covering this crap up! This is an old cold case, but because of victims coming forward and through documentaries like this, I hope that in this day and age, this religion is doing better to protect the right people.

Shameful and disgusting.

After the second episode I had to take a break. I couldn't believe it. Vile is not a nearly harsh enough word...abominable, maybe. The whole communion thing (can't describe it here) is nauseating. Shameful is right, DJ.
Sigmund has a thread for this somewhere, I believe.

I agree with you, ma'am.

I finally finished watching this. =D I got side-lined with The Hand Maid's Tale, OITNB and reading a bunch of trash.

It is a tough one to watch and listen to. Just the rampant cover-up is appalling. The systematic trashing of the victims disgraceful.

I started this over the weekend and watched episode 2 last night. I was stunned by it and the horrific things described in that show are still lingering this morning. Sickening. Just sickening.

I love Gemma - talk about someone who knows how to get things done. She reminds me of Gene Hackman's character in the movie Mississippi Burning; using her personality to get information - showing levity on the surface but with serious intentions underneath.
