The Darkside of the Moon (England really)
Joe St. George, Big Driver (and his mother), The Langoliers, Randall Flagg, Annie Wilkes, Brady (can't remember his last name-- dude from Mr. Mercedes), The Overlook Hotel.
The langoliers? They reminded me of the Critters from the cheesy d-list horror film of the same name. I know they were mentioned in jest, but I probably would actually fear the minions more than them. ;-D

Brady's name was Hartsfield btw.

I find Jud Crandall kind of scary to be honest.

I know he's generally seen as a good guy, but you always get the sense that he knows more than he lets on and he is the one who introduces Louis to the Pet Sematary. He could be Stephen King's version of Iago from Shakespeare's Othello.
Dammit, now I gotta go look up Iago (if that it is his real name).

What cheesy d-list horror film? The Langoliers? Do you mean you saw the movie before you read the story? OIC, you're referring to a movie titled Critters.

Mr. Flip?

And the Space Cowby is from Gerald's Game, right?
Mr. Flip was Callahan's closet monster in 'Salem's Lot. I got him all tied together in my mind with Tad's closet monster in Cujo and had a HELL of a nightmare when I was in my early teens. I still mistrust closets, and I'm getting close to 50--lol. And, yep, Space Cowboy was from GG. That one creeped me out a lot.

Hmmm, had completely forgotten about Callahan having a monster in the closet. And the GG guess was just that-- a guess. I knew Deep Space Cowboy was from either that one or Lisey's Story. Heh. Time for re-reads!

In the film they were. In the novella they were nasty beasts.

Yup - in the novella you can just use your imagination and that is ALWAYS scarier!

Hi Nameless - how's life "across the pond"? - wish I could stay on here and chat but I must get up very early and go back to work after four days off - yikes!

Life across the pond - could be worse, should be better. Summer appears to have turned up, it was 16 degrees yesterday which is only 61F but after the barrage of cold and rain and strong winds we've had lately, 16 will do us fine.

Hope you didn't work too hard on your 1st day back.

Work? I only get to exercise my little gray cells unfortunately, so no physical activity to speak of. I hope I can last two more years!
