Putin. Interesting guy. Smart guy.

Even he says, when speaking about the then upcoming election, that you cannot take campaign promises at their word.

Unfortunately less than half of the US voters, and the electoral college, believed the campaign promises Trump made. Putin is smarter than those people in knowing it's all sleight of hand. We've been played and Putin is reaping the rewards.

Stone is actually doing an okay job. Asking hard questions, but not pushing too hard. Maybe for fear the interview would be cut off.

Just finished episode 3. We're getting into the more serious topics now. Again, Putin is very calculating and piercingly cold.

The architecture is very beautiful. Of course, we're getting to see this for two reasons:

1. Putin is puffing up like a bantam rooster, wanting the west to see the riches and glory of Russia. Bright, colorful, clean, powerful, rich.
2. Stone is wanting us to see the riches and glory of Russia. Makes a good visual as a backdrop for his documentary.

Again, Stone is friendly and sufficiently awestruck with Putin. Putin is ego driven, so a good azz kisser who treats him like a God gets him in doors we might never have otherwise gotten through.

I haven't seen any of these interviews (no Showtime), but you're absolutely right about Putin being very, very smart. We take him as a joke to our very great detriment.

Part 4 was much more serious. Hard questions. Shrewd answers.

The thing that bothered me the most about this docuseries was that there were many places where you could see very hard edits. Many edits. So, what did Putin say that he wanted edited out. The cuts are rough and choppy so very obvious that edits were made to his answers.

I do have an episode that is an afterword and I hope that they explain these cuts.

I would recommend viewing this.
