As we scuffled around, something caught my eye.. in the corner of the floor was a latch.
I knocked him out with a final blow, and hurried across the floor to open the hidden door.
The blast of air from below was fetid and repugnant with a malodorous spoor.
The ladder-way dropped into darkness, Old Scratch began to stir.
I dove into the hole and landed right on top of her...
She'd been trying to climb the ladder when I knocked her to the floor...
As I got up and looked at her, the woman began to snore.
