more guns 001.JPG These are a few more...all have been used to harvest whitetail deer. Top is a Winchester Model 70 in 30.06, a gift to me from family and my first deer rifle that I could call my own, next is a Thompson Center Arms Black Diamond .45 (in-line muzzleloader), then the deer rifle I currently use, a Tikka T-3 in .270 Winchester, below that is Dad's old Winchester, a Model 94 in .32 Special, and the gun I used to take my first two whitetails, dropping them where they stood, and at bottom a Remington Model 721 in 30.06, Dad's deer rifle which he used to shoot a doe (illegal), but we were hunting for food, way back when...the first deer kill I experienced in the bush and the smell was horrendous...or, that's how I recall it...he asked two other hunters who hunted out of a nearby cabin for help dragging it out of the bush covered with about 16" of freshly fallen snow. He did not have a scope on his rifle, he did not bait deer (never has been illegal in Michigan, although there are various regulations now concerning placement and amount, and in some areas it is not permitted), and he walked through the woods. He shot deer. If you've never been out in the bush, you have seconds to react, seconds in which he did not care if the animal wore antlers or not...he was going after meat. He did not give a **** for wit. If the deer he happened to shoot wore antlers, all the better. When the Native Americans kill an animal, it is called noble...when someone from the modern age does the same thing, people line up to question his intelligence. I think the appropriate response is **** you, Jack.

more guns 002.JPG Here's several more...top is a pre-Clinton gun ban AR-15, Leupold scope...middle is that Calico I posted about several posts back...that is a 100-round magazine on its back, and bottom is a Hi-Point Firearms Model 995 9mm x 19...made in Mansfield, Ohio. All three are a blast to shoot...I've an amusing memory of my wife pulling the Calico to her shoulder in an exaggerated move that made me laugh when she did it...fires a .22 Long Rifle...100 times, once each time you pull the trigger until it is empty.

Thank you...here's a few more:
pistol 001.JPG That's a Smith & Wesson Model 41 with the Ultra-Dot scope...2-lb trigger...accurate and fun to shoot. Top right is a Springfield XD 45, and below that to the right is a Colt .45...7-rounds in the Colt, 15 I think it is in the Springfield...Bottom is a Sig...I forget which one, the P226 or P228. In the middle is a Taurus Ultra-Lite Titanium .38 Special, the one I was plinking with when a ricochet hit me in the temple...and I've all these green cards in front of me as I type...in Michigan, one must pass a safety test prior to the purchase of a handgun...unless one has a concealed carry license...and upon being provided with a piece of paper from your local chief of police or from your constitutionally elected sheriff, you make your purchase, and bring the gun to that office for a "safety check"...which is nothing more than registration, by all accounts something the Founders frowned upon given their experience with a standing army and rule from abroad. Anyway...heh!...I've forgotten about a couple I have...in the safe...a Magnum Research Inc. Desert Eagle .357...a large and heavy semi-auto...and this other a Professional Ordnance Carbon 15...investments, as I said earlier. Actually, the Sig is up top right and the XD-45 is down low bottom.

If you buy a gun from a shop with an FFL now, they call your local sheriff's office for you for approval and you don't have to bring the gun in for a safety check, just a copy of the permit filled out at the store. If you have a CPL it is easier still as you mentioned. If you buy a handgun from a private individual you need to go the sheriffs office for a purchase permit, but again, you do not have to bring the gun in for a safety check. This was all changed recently I believe, and I've bought two hundguns this year and that was the process.

Maybe it is different in the Lower Peninsula though, eh?

And they are absolutely investments. Guns never lose value.

Of course the guys that justify it like that are the ones that never get rid of 'em.

Nice looking pieces. I'll have to drive up that way and we can do some shootin'!

You bet! I'll let you shoot the AR-50...bring ear-protection. And regarding the process...yeah, I recall something from a few years back about changes to the system...but haven't made any purchases new or used to experience what happens. At least this thread got me to open the safe and see if what I thought I had is still present and accounted for. Heh! Here's a few more:

In the first, top is an Israel Military Industries Desert Eagle .357 Magnum Pistol, below that is a Springfield Armory Model 1911-A1 (.45 Auto...meaning Automatic Colt Pistol or ACP...it is semi-auto)...both of them are 1st & 2nd...and the last is a Cobra Model C22LR...it is actually my wife's...made in Utah.
That second shot is a Professional Ordnance Carbon-15 Pistol, classified as a pistol/handgun...shoots the same NATO round (.223/5.56) as the AR-15 and they also make a Carbon-15 rifle or perhaps more than one version of each. Should have taken a shot of the Carbon-15 with a handgun to give some perspective of size. I've never shot it...it's been in the box in the safe since I brought it home.

Nice Desert Eagle. Is that a gas operated loader or recoil? I'm still learning..

Honestly, I'm not positive, but I believe it is recoil. I've only taken it out once or twice and it did not perform as expected. Was my brother's as many of these were. I don't know of any gas operated semi-auto, but then there are so many available that perhaps they exist. I wondered if I'd not used powerful enough ammo, as it did not want to cycle. It is a heavy gun, front heavy...plus I like the .45 autos and the Sigs and the .22s. Check out these bad boys:
ggg 001.JPG
These the two I use the most anymore...although I have...need to pull off a sock...12 others? The one on the right shoot brads and the one on the left shoots a larger finish nail. I've not shot myself with these particular models although I have shot myself with both framing guns and finish nailers. The finisher nailer hurts like a S.O.B. Have not shot myself recently, knock on wood.

Impressive....
Our gun laws in Canada are much different than that of the U.S.
The gov't, in its infinite wisdom, just recently abandoned the long arms licensing law, it was not enforceable. It had a budget of $1 million. The cost to date?
$100 million. All for nothing.

If I remember correctly, they are light aren't they? It's a 15 clip?
One needs special licensing for that barrel length in Canada ( I have it).

It's a slightly cut down version of the full size .40 caliber model 22..standard capacity is 13 rds,but the one I carry is 15,plus 1..love it,so dependable..
