Well Traveling Gnome, here is northeastern Wyoming.

And, although not in Wyoming, a short jaunt will get you to the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota and this...

...and many other beautiful places.

Your appearance is quite appropriate, that is what we will all look like here, being in the kill zone of the Yellowstone volcano. Better hurry and visit before she blows!

So many other pretty places in Wyoming, too (but I guess I'm biased)!

The closest big city to me is Baton Rouge.

Downtown with the Mississippi on the right, and a view of the new bridge.

The old bridge. Yes, it really is that color.

Closer to home, we have Parlange Plantation, on the nation's registry of haunted places:

Parlange sits right on the false river. It used to be part of the Mississippi, but they closed in the ends and created a shorter route. So now, there's this long, skinny lake that looks like a river if you're not near one of the ends.

I drive past both Parlange and the false river every day.
Parlange has tours, but in all the 13 years I've lived here, I haven't gone on it. Not once. And it's right there. I really should.

Which might not be too comfortable but it does have a great view of Tower Bridge.

cat in a bag , I thought you'd like this :) My uncle (who now lives in FL and misses home) posted it on FB this morning:

What It’s Like Living In The State With The Lowest Population In The U.S. - The Meta Picture
I have been driving through Wyoming. Cheyenne, Casper i remember. We visited Fort Laramie, it is there right? and then a medicine ring (an ancient native american holy place) on top of a mountain but im not sure if that was in Wyoming or the South Dakotas. Then we visited Deadwood and went back to Colorado through Nebraska.

That was great! Thank you so much for posting that here for me! (And everyone else, too.) Shared it with my husband. We got quite the giggle out of the Triple C S'ers. ;) Those draglines in the Black Thunder pic, he worked on for 2 years. He is at a smaller mine now, they have just one baby dragline and it isn't in use. He mechanics on shovels and drills. :)

When I was a kid, I wondered how anybody could live there (we visited often because my parents are both from there), but now it's just home. I get nostalgic for the smell of sagebrush. In a show of ka like a wheel, though I met my husband here, he is from a small town very close to where my mother's family still lives--my grandmother actually shopped in his mother's clothes store regularly. We probably ran into each other at summer carnivals, etc. :)
