Has anyone done this cupping stuff? There is the hot cupping where they basically put fire in the cup, usually on your back. Then there is regular cupping for cellulite, fine lines and wrinkles, lymphatic drainage and other benefits. Then there is wet cupping where they make cuts in your skin and allow for lymph/blood to get sucked out.

Also, does anyone do dry skin brushing? Again, for lymphatic drainage.

Thoughts about these treatments?

And, I'd love to hear about other treatments you've had if you care to share. Worth it? No?

I could tell the ultimate embarrassing spa story, but I'm not going to. It's going to the grave with me.

I haven't done this. A good, strong massage and maybe hot stones is good enough for me.

I, personally, can't imagine being comfortable being cut or brushed hard enough for something to drain out of me without being under general anesthesia and a doctor's care.:icon_eek:

I'm with you on that one. Sounds a bit extreme just for a spa treatment and reminds me of the days when they used to leech people to get rid of the "bad" blood.

My massage therapist suggested it once. She said because the layers of muscles were so tightly locked together, it would help separate them. Well, I trust the professionals. But they're not always right.

It gave me no perceived benefit, and it left dark purple circles all over my back that horrified Grandma.

Not doing that again.

Sounds mildly terrifying. I vote no. Just marinate in a jacuzzi for about 15 mins, then get a nice rub down - gentle-like. One marvelous thing I've had done: hot towels on my feets. Oh heavenly. Just divine.

I'm dying to hear your embarrassing spa story. I'll trade ya something.

Ever since I was a kid I have been playing in the woods. Now I understand it is all the rage and called 'Forest Therapy' and 'Forest Bathing.' (Who would have ever guessed I was a trendsetter and way before my time?) Does that count?

Yeah.... I can't do that. I need elbows pushing into my back and such.

Nope. I guarantee whatever embarrassing story you come up with, this will top it.
