Have a little trouble with the elevator in my building. It doesn't like me! I don't know what i have done to anger it. I haven't behaved badly, i haven't cursed and i haven't peed in it. But as soon as i goes in it stops to function. I press the button for the bottomfloor (i live at the topfloor) it lights up but the doors doesn't move. I press again, longer this time. No reaction. I press the button that is suppused to open and close from the inside but it doesn't work. I pet it. It won' say a word. I press buttons for other floors. Nothing happens. I go out and the door closes and it starts its descent. Without me. The same when i'm going up. I press the button and it comes down like a good buy, the doors open but when i enter and press 7 (my floornumber) nothing happens. I stand there like a dummy and suddenly someone on another floor presses the button. The doors closes and up i go. But if it is only me. No chance. As far as the elevator goes i'm a ghost. And i don't like running upstairs and downstairs all the time. Grrrr.

I should not laugh, but that elevator story is something to behold. Do you think there is problem with the electronics and the #7 floor? Can you report it to the building person? I guess it is better that it doesn't take up or down instead of getting stuck between floors. Good luck.
Is your building and elevator old enough that an elevator attendant used to operate the elevator? Maybe you somehow p'd off his ghost.

It takes others up and down. It was installed this January. How the heck can i go to whoever and say that it is just me that it is malfunctioning with. Been three days in a row now.

No, this is a first for me. You know what they say about the first time being so special..? This is more like irritating, annoying.
Has anyone else been complaining about the elevator too? If not than someone is playing with your patience someway?
If you've ruled out personal denial about Heaven and Hell, and aren't afraid of temporary weightlessness, then what remains, no matter how improbable - that the elevator is faulty - must be the truth. I suggest you take a witness with you, a scientist if possible and one affiliated with the building itself, and try to re-create the event.
I once had a problem with an elevator which wouldn't go up or down, but was willing to go sideways for a fee. I also had to show credentials to an elevator proving I belonged in it, while yet another sat and argued philosophically which floor I should choose.

You need to conduct an experiment with a witness. Then, alone, if it happens again, well yer on yer own.
Perhaps it is like in Kings Short story Willa. Perhaps i am a ghost? That should explain it. But no, i have worked today and talked to people and bought groceries... Not very ghostly. Just trying to have an open mind. You know.
I'm not very engineery... Is it possible that this extreme heat that Sweden has experienced the last month or so has caused the metal or something else to malfunction. Metalexpansion or something. It was okay during the heat. It is now, when the extreme heat is slowly fading that it has started to be spooky.
Kurben, if you live in an old building you could have a ghostly admirer, or at least one that wants you to know of their presence. Ask his name next time and see what happens, maybe you will get a quick mental flash or a picture.

Sounds like she’s just messing with you (whether it be poltergeist or Maximum Overdrive annexation). If she does what one elevator did to me down in Miami, (let loose and drop several floors before coming to a screeching halt when the emergency brakes kicked in) then I’d say get the hell out of dodge.
