Nothing like eating them directly from the plant, eh? My fingers were always black or blue or red after being out picking berries. I probably ate as much as i sampled. But i remember when my dad and I had been out for many hours picking blueberries. We had been promised that mom should make something nice out of them. She was very good at that sort of thing. But the, catastroph arrives, she realizes that it is a relatives birthday, and not a very nice relative either, so she gives the blueberries away in birthday present. The disapointment! The Agony! It took years before we stopped reminding her of 'these blueberries'. They became an inside joke in the family.

Yeah I'll be eating them while I pick them, and get my clothes all stained, then have to hear about it when it's wash time that she can't get the stains out. :)

Great story. You almost make picking berries sound fun. (But you ain't fooling me! :) )

I had one good berry-picking experience. We had a big mulberry tree in the backyard, wonderful for climbing, and my childhood friend and I would climb it, find comfortable places to sit, talk, and pick off the mulberries and chow down.

In your case, I think it's time to start developing a bad back that starts hurting when you're doing bending work for more than a minute.

As far as the car experience, I harken to the old saying: "When I die I want it to be peacefully in my sleep, like my grandfather. Not screaming in terror, like the passengers in his car."

My only good berry experience was as a kid with my group of friends picking and eating "choke berries." Any else call them choke berries?

I've tried the old bad back routine. She never bought it. And she wouldn't care. :)

I've given her the nickname "Scream Weaver" for the way she drives in traffic. To which I usually get the reply, "Listen Mister Man"...

This reminds me.

I just painted my house and I used primer. If any of you have used primer, it is a different consistency than paint. Even though it says it is soap and water washable, this is a lie. I dumped a half a can down the front of my bare legs. I was focused to paint, so thought, heck, I'll just deal with this later. Big mistake. Big. Huge.

Walked into Lowe's with primer down my legs (this was after scrubbing myself raw with a scrub brush where only half of the primer came off) and walked up to the paint counter. The guy asked me how he could help. I pointed at my legs and said, "Primer, do you have something that will take it off my skin?"
He said, "No, just a hot bath and a scrub brush."
I said, "I did that and my skin is hurting."
He said, "Well get a bottle of wine and drink it while soaking in a tub. If it doesn't come off, at least you won't care."

lol.
 Reminds me of my mishap with two (full) cans of house paint. A girlfriend (not like that) and I had a paint war one day when we were flatting. (19 yrs old) We didn't read the cans, barely looked at them. By the end of it we were covered from head to toe in this ghastly pink(ish) colour.
Once it had dried (not a very comfortable feeling) we did read the cans. Oh sh1t. We jumped into a river... zero effect. Next, we went to a local gas station and bought a few litres of petrol... and a scrubbing brush. We spent hours and lost quite a bit of skin...
We were drunk when the paint went on... and high (petrol fumes) as it was coming off. I have NO idea how we lived through that. (I was a smoker back then... can't remember if I tried to light up or not, I'm guessing not.)
The paint was in our hair for months... Ahhh youth.

Wow… thanks for painting such a vivid picture of your experience for us!
