Be aware if you read the comics, it may ruin some things for you. They've taken turns and brought in new characters not in the books, deaths and survivors are somewhat different too, but it could spoil stuff for you.

I will say this, the Dwight in the comics is different in some ways, and also did not show up until about the same timeline point as the show is at now. Daryl was not in the comics at all, and a lot of his actions I cant assign to other characters.

For the record I stay current with comics, which is currently at issue #159. The point the show has reached, the first meeting with Negan, takes place in issue #100 in the comics. So to gauge the story point differences, it took 6 seasons to do 100 issues. That means there is approximately 3.5 seasons worth of content available to cover. In the meantime, the comic will add an additional 50 issues approximately. Essentially if the comic continues at its current pace and the show does too, they will always stay about 3 years ahead.
Hoss, have you read the last couple? AAARRRRGH! I don't see them until the GNs come out, but I caught the gist of the last couple when looking for the info on the Survivor Guide. HOW STUPID CAN THEY BE?!?! I want to slap Rick and all of the Alexandrians!

Wow, what a traumatic episode.
In my opinion they shouldn't have shown all the gore and brain matter. It just didn't need to be seen. That's just me. I am not bothered by violence but I think it was too stark and naked...too much. I think it is always better to let the audience imagine the worst than to show it, like with Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original) and Jaws and Psycho. Other than this I think it was a powerful episode. The scene where Rick is about to cut off Carl's arm was intense and the alternate imagined world where they all are eating dinner outside was so sad. So, who would you like to see kill Negan? Lol

Carl.

Absolute silence in my home when it ended.
