I can't look at the spoilers yet, but I've been thinking that the Termites were eradicated awfully early and awfully easily for their build up. Now I'm wondering if it's not over with them after all--maybe Gabriel was supplying them in return for protection? Hell, maybe he's the real leader and the rest of them were drones, and maybe he has other cells. Random thoughts (and not based on the comic, so not a spoiler)...

I just can't justify in my mind the Termites thing. Though the writing has been up and down on the show, that is such a glaring issue that I want it to be a non-issue, I guess. I still think the baddie in the train car flashback was Negan, I think he'll show up by the end of this season or the beginning of next, and now I'm wondering if they'll tie Gabriel in somehow. Kirkman is on the record as being dissatisfied with how he treated/used Gabriel in the comics, so maybe he's going to us the show to make some adjustments? Just thinking about loud.

I agree with that. As with Gabriel, it would be cool seeing his role shift from the comics and go towards a different direction. A more "darker" characterization, perhaps?

Interesting. Either way they were way too close to each other to be unaware, and with their gear the Termites could have walked in and taken him at any time. Makes me think ol' Gaz and Co weren't the ones Gabriel betrayed.
He also doesn't go in for Christian mercy much, does he? I mean, ending a zombie has to be an act of kindness, right? (Same with the melted dudes; FGS someone just knife them in the noggin and end it for them.)

I really thought Rick was going to plug the big bald 'cop'. Tbh, I probably would have, for three reasons: 1) he called me an *******, 2) he was tensed up, like he was about to launch and try to fight back, 3) general principle. Or, if I had the means, secret option 4) pack his vest out with enough explosive to make things interesting without destroying the whole hospital, gaffer tape his gob shut, then wait for his mates to take him inside. Flick switch, big boom, everyone piles in to perform the rescue, dropping everyone bar Carol. Oh, go on then, and Beth. :D

Oh, and, the other week...
The ZA is supposed to have happened what? 18 months ago? 2 years? Long enough for Lori to carry Judith to term and for the kid to be about 9-12 months old. Would I have taken water from the (non-operational) cooler or eaten a packet of crisps/chips after they'd been lying around for that long? No sir - or ma'am - I would not. (Those chips - whatever they were - would have tasted like sweat-soggy socks. And that water: clear, after all that time? Nup. That's up there with the whole 'who's cutting the grass?' thing from S1/2.)

I'm wondering how Gabriel managed to step on a nail... perhaps I missed something. Maybe it's written this way for the story?

Also with Gabriel...
I wonder if Gabriel could be a leader of some other colony (because the actor has similar features as one of the colony leaders that Rick encounters in the comics)
Do you remember seeing the group...
pulling all of the iron/wood etc off the church? At one point they were pulling nails from the window sills above the place that Gabriel came out from under the church, I guess he trod on one when he stood up.
(Though when I saw it I remember thinking to myself, 'if the nail was just lying on the ground, how did it go into his foot?' But perhaps there was a board on the ground, with a nail poking up out of it? I dunno...)
