They can put a man on the moon, but...

They still can't get rid of all the mosquitoes.
The last drops from the gasoline pump always drip to the ground.
You still can't buy only the TV channels you actually use.
They can't make a razor that stays sharp after a few uses.
They can't make soda pop that doesn't go flat after you've opened the bottle.
Dry cereal still finds a way out of the inner bag and into the box.
Ketchup still congeals around the lid/spout.
Lint still collects in our bellybuttons.
Socks go missing.

Seriously, I saw where you can get a plastic surgeon now to give you a lint-repelling belly button.

Per Wikipedia...
  • United States: Cell phone blocking devices are used by federal officials under certain circumstances.[citation needed] Privacy rights of property owners may affect the policy and application of law within buildings[citation needed]. For radio communications, it is illegal to operate, manufacture, import, or offer for sale, including advertising (Communications Act of 1934).[11] Blocking radio communications in public can carry fines of up to $112,000 and/or imprisonment of up to one year.[12] The Homeland Security Act of 2002 may override the Communications Act of 1934.[13]
So, I guess I can't buy one let alone use one legally.
Saw that on Criminal Minds once...they were trying to prevent a cell phone bomb from being detonated...I love that show but wonder about the accuracy of the "facts." Thanks for the info!

It was a Criminal Minds episode that inspired my cell jammer comment. The unsubs used the cell jammer, then approached the house with a dead animal saying they'd just found it in the street. Did the home owner/victim have a trash bag they could put it in? They couldn't call the police about the pet or anything, so 9 times out of 10, a sympathetic persun would go get a bag, leaving the front door open. Then, when the bad guys were inside the house, it's was torture time.

Criminal minds is awesome.
That's a good episode. I don't watch the seasons in order but I've seen most of them from watching reruns.

Now I know this is pretty petty but as someone who likes to bake… Why can't they sell baking soda in a better container?? It's in a cardboard box that doesn't really stay shut after it's open. I always have to tape it closed with a new piece of tape every time I use it or else transfer it to tupperware. Why can't baking soda be sold in the same type of container as baking powder? :umm:

All part of the evil plan to make you buy more! Same with shampoo/conditioner bottles- have you noticed that most of them now have somewhat curved bottoms so that they will tip over easily and spill out?

I saw that episode too. It makes you wonder - I guess they did not have a land line? or can those be jammed as well?

I like to bake too Autumn! Another thing is if you cut the box as indicated with a knife and then try to reclose is you end up with wee bits of cardboard in your box of baking soda. Lately I have been buying it to make my own bath bombs (I love the Lush ones but they are too expensive) :untroubled:
